I had the chance to know this place in a wine tour. Soooo nice! I would love to visit again. Every bottle is delicious

I organized a visit for my husband and I to spend our anniversary here, we had an incredible! 10/10 for anyone who loves unique, hidden gems! Colonel who is knowledgeable on meadery!

A very cool experience with Mr. Locklear. We tried mead and wine and I particularly loved the mead. Also enjoyed the history and science behind it. We bought 3 bottles (1 wine) to take home.

Had an amazing time here with a few friends! The tasting room has an intimate, unique atmosphere, and everything feels and tastes genuine, and down-to-earth. No obtrusive marketing scheme, no unnecessary additives, just a master of his craft with the fruits of his labor. Will certainly be back again!

Really excellent time. Seems a little sketchy to basically be pulling into someone's yard and tasting out of their garage in the middle of nowhere, but Colonel himself was great and quickly had us at ease. Good knowledge and stories, if a little unorganized in the actual tasting. Flexible and liberal in his tastings and excited to share if he had other items (even from other meaderies) if you might be interested.Smaller brewer, so batches are also smaller and it will likely be a different experience each time you try. We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing time here! We did a tasting with a great variety of mead and learned a ton from Colonel, who is clearly an expert and passionate about mead. We walked out with several bottles and have enjoyed every one. Will be back!

Awesome meadery. Every meade was DELICIOUS! The owner was so welcoming and personable. He is truely an artist at his craft. They also have some unique botanical meades that you won't find anywhere else. Don't miss this amazing place! Make your appointment ASAP.

I called and the guy was really terse when he answered the phone and then when I asked if I could make a reservation he hung up on me. I'm not sure if the phone number is legit/this place is real.

Some of the best mead I've ever had! Even the sweet mead isn't too sweet. The hoppy mead is very refreshing and the fruit wines are quite good too. Colonel (the owner) is also very knowledgeable about mead and meaderies all over the US and Europe.

Some of the best wine and mead I’ve ever had and the owner who did our tasting was very generous and polite. And it’s only $10 a tasting! Fantastic experience. Highly recommend.

The best meade I've ever had. Clearly an expert at making meade, very high quality and a great tasting with lots of information. Friendly service and a beautiful relaxed atmosphere. Rarely do we buy bottles after tasting around here, but here we definitely did.Make sure to call ahead before showing up, they have a small tasting room and they do take reservations.

This Winery was the best place to get mead wine in the entire state of Virginia!
