Bee & Butter has become one of our go to restaurants in the New River Valley. We always have a great experience when we dine here from the food and drinks to the service. The location is convenient and provides stunning views of Radford’s campus and the surrounding mountains during each season. I highly recommend this restaurant for your casual Friday night out or a romantic dinner for two!
Bee and Butter is such a wonderful addition to Radford! It has become a favorite tradition every time we visit. We love hanging out, enjoying the signature cocktails and the beautiful scenery. Had fun with the new putt putt greens. Bummed the fire tables were not working. We would have stayed for a second round and some food.

Restaurant is beautiful and spacious. Food was delicious! We started with 2 appetizers. My husband got bbq wings. They were fresh and looked good. The pimento cheese appetizer with the pretzel crostinis was delicious and IMO some of the best pimento cheese I’ve ever had - highly recommend! The menu was smaller than most restaurants but had a great variety. I was very happy to see some vegetarian options. I had the roasted cauliflower steak and my husband had a burger. Both entrees were great. We thought the prices were fair and our service was good. Will definitely go back.
Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options
Parking: Parking was easy. We found plenty of open spots in the lot behind the hotel.

What a surprise to find such a nice restaurant in a college town. Inside is modern with clean lines. Cesar salad and corn chowder were spot on. Pork chop and salmon were amazing!

Bee and Butters food and staff are five star all around.
They went above and beyond to accommodate food allergies, and we truly can’t thank them enough. It made our families experience even better this visit.
We look forward to coming back in the near future for our daughter’s next college event.
Thank you again!

This was my first time going, and it was absolutely wonderful. Me and my date sat outside. It was such a beautiful view. I had the catfish wrapped in bacon served with Black Eyed Peas and stewed tomatoes and the cornbread hush puppies. It was amazing. She had the green tomato BLT with the hash rounds and loved it. We got the cornbread hush puppies with the jalapeño butter to start with. It was delicious and we both got craft cocktails I got mango margarita. Loved it. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. I can’t wait to go back.

We had an EXCELLENT meal and experience at Bee & Butter last week! I’m still thinking about how yummy the salmon with a bourbon pecan topping was. Thank you to Robert and our wonderful server for a delightful evening. We will definitely be back soon and plan to bring friends!

We were visiting for Family Weekend and this was our 3rd visit to Bee & Butter! Another wonderful experience, too bad fire pits weren't working though. Serenity was a perfect server!
This was our first visit to B&B since it's recent reopening. Many issues (i.e., elevator access) corrected and improvements realized. The setting is casual, comfortable, and pleasant with views of the Radford University campus and distant mountains. Parking is easy. Nice menu with many interesting and enticing dishes. Many custom cocktails available. Server pleasant and responsive. Training needed in wine service protocols. Limited but quality wine list with inflated prices. Food was good but not outstanding or consistent with pricing. The small plates/appetizers, specifically the puppies and okra were excellent. Entrees, sides, and dessert okay. Will stick with small plates and handhelds next visit. We will return because of location and ambiance.
Had a B'day party with family. Have been to this restaurant before and wanted to return for this special occasion. Had great food and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant!

When I made the reservation, I was expecting an upscale, farm-to-table experience. A day prior to the reservation, I received a voicemail that the full menu would not be available, and that a set price buffet would be provided. This was supposedly due to the high number of reservations. It was school cafeteria food at best. We didn't bother with dessert because the dinner was awful. Service was so so, with no water replenishment, and I had to get up to ask for the check. Place was mostly empty with several employees chatting away at the bar. I overpaid and overtipped, and I regret both. The hotel, restaurant itself, and view were spectacular. Such a shame. I actually made this reservation to scope it out prior to reserving for a large event. Glad I did!
A very different experience this year, switching from a trendy spot with great wine and a great menu to a boring and average quality buffet and short wine list. Truly love the location and the design and I hope they will go back to what they were.
Ate dinner during Virginia Tech Family Weekend so restaurant was only serving a buffet (not menu, like usual). Buffet was very limited and the food was not good. Most proteins (salmon, pork loin) were overcooked and dry. No vegetables offered other than cooked baby carrots (like the kind you get in a bag at the grocery store) and caesar salad. Even fried food wasn't good- hushpuppies (dry) and fried green tomato sliders (bland). For the price (approx $30+ per person), this was really not worth it. Cocktails and service were great, but that's the only upside. Located at the top of the Highlander Hotel with great views so it's a shame the food was so terrible.
I've been here on 3 different occasions - a business meeting, Resident's night out, and an art show.
Business meeting: appetizers were provided by B&B, drinks were to be purchased at the bar. The appetizers were relatively well-seasoned and were hot. The choice of appetizers for a business mingle was odd. Chicken wings are really hard to eat standing up while you're meeting people and so is shrimp cocktail. The spinach dip was good, but really runny. There was no silverware in sight. The event was about an hour long and several guests spent 20+ minutes waiting in line at the bar to get a drink. There were two bartenders, but they made one drink at a time. The female bartender didn't smile, didn't greet anyone, didn't pay attention to who was in line, and looked incredibly annoyed to have to be making drinks. A guest of our group didn't love selection of mixed drinks, but liked one of the non-alcoholic ones. She asked the bartender if she could make it alcoholic. She obliged and told her the total was $22, which was almost twice as much as the mixed drinks. When questioned she shrugged and said that was the total. And to be honest, the $12 mixed drink I got was nothing special and most definitely not worth $12. It definitely wasn't worth $22.
When visiting for RNO, we thought the food on the buffet was pretty good. Good selection, everything was fresh, and refilled frequently. The mac and cheese was very good, but it contained shrimp and absolutely was NOT labeled that way. I went up to double-check because seafood allergies are super dangerous and I was shocked that it didn't say it contained shrimp. Our server asked several times if we wanted drinks (we did not) and she seemed frustrated that we weren't ordering anything additional. We asked her how much the buffet would cost if it wasn't included in the room price and she said she didn't know. We were asking because we wanted to tip her appropriately and she said she had no idea because she makes most of her tips on the drinks. While we were finishing up, a super weird, loud sound starting going off. The bartender announced it was just the dishwasher and that the manager told her it was supposed to sound like that (it's not, btw. lol)
When attending an art show, dinner was provided to the vendors. The food was good - basically a good size sampler of all their appetizers. No silverware or napkins were provided or within sight. We used beverage napkins and paper towels from the restroom. I visited the bar to order a soft drink. It was the same disinterested, salty bartender from my first visit. I had to say "excuse me" so she would look up at me after I stood there for awhile while she was cleaning. She looked up, annoyed, and said 'yes?' I asked her what soft drinks she has. She said "coke products" and started to walk away. I said "could you tell me which ones?" and she quickly said cokedietcokespritedrpepper. She didn't ask if I wanted to buy one or if she could get me anything, so I didn't order anything. She is one the most miserable bartenders I've ever seen.
The view from both rooftop patios is BEAUTIFUL. The furniture is well-suited for the space (both inside and out), and they could have a really special spot in Radford if service would improve. In SWVA, southern hospitality is expected and appreciated and B&B just doesn't have that vibe. I've never been to a restaurant or bar that was this unfriendly and pretentious. Three strikes.
