We love coming here! The fish is very fresh and I like to get the sashimi. The rest of my family like to get the bento box and rolls.

Came in on a Friday night with no reservation and was seated 5 min after arrival. The sushi and fish generally were super fresh and the cuts were decently sized. I would highly recommended the sashimi platter.
The wait for the food was a bit long but it was pretty packed given it was a Friday night. There were a lot of families in there so expect to hear a lot of commotion. Service and food were good. Highly recommend coming here!

Sushi and sashimi were on point. Certainly not the best in the area but worth trying it. They have fresh real wasabi which is worth trying if you haven't tried it before.

Always get the French kiss roll. It is not on the list, but if you know you know, and you can write it on top of the little ordering sheet that they give you they also have a good eggplant appetizer as well as very lightly fried tempura. The toro had a good rice to fish ratio as well.
I mainly come here just for the specialty rolls since in my opinion that is what they specialize in but they have something for everyone.
Nice stuff relatively quick service, but you do want to make a reservation because it gets very full very quickly even on weekday nights

I visited this website after seeing an ad on Facebook. Unfortunately, the menu does not show prices unless you actually start placing an order. This is very inconvenient and makes the browsing experience frustrating. Customers should be able to see the prices upfront when viewing the menu.

Hidden find in Reston that will make you feel full and satisfied with the overall quality and quantity of the meal when you leave. We got their chirashi bowl that costs $33 but it's worth it as there are a variety of sashimi and a lot of it. The salmon and tuna rolls were also very good. The shrimp and vegetable tempura was decent; I wished the batter was lighter and crispier. Overall I had a very good and filling meal.
Their bento boxes are a good deal.
Despite being further than the sushi spots near our home, we happily take the additional 20 minutes to get to Ariake Japanese Restaurant which has become a family favorite, standing out among countless other sushi spots. Its quality rivals some of our favorite Japanese restaurants in DC. Beyond a great selection of favorites, they often feature unique options like special fish and different types of uni. The nigiri is a highlight, perfectly balanced with an ideal rice-to-fish ratio. Your standard rolls are equally impressive, with specialty rolls offering complex and creative flavors. The kids enjoy the sushi as well as few of their hot dishes like tempura, Hamachi Kama, and teriyaki.
Service is generally good, though you may need to get their attention for refills. This minor issue is easily overlooked given the excellent food and overall dining experience. Ultimately, the consistent quality, exciting menu, and family-friendly options make the extra drive a small price to pay for an authentic and memorable meal. Ariake is well worth the trip.

I have eaten here dozens of times including my birthday this year. The food and service have consistently been incredible! My family loves the atmosphere and friendly staff, and even my kiddos ask to stop by for shrimp pops. Definitely recommend Ariake!
The tuna special was outstanding. This is my new local sushi place. Well staffed with five sushi chefs!
