I love all things Reston and Cafesano is one of my favorite spots. Good food, nice wine list, great service. Right on Lake Thoreau. Tonight we had a signature salad, penne arrabbiata and a bottle of Chianti. Our bill was under $60. This place is the place for a good meal at a nice price. That is almost impossible to find!

Very mixed experience.
We ordered takeout ahead. The prices were fine. The Greek pizza was delicious and well cooked. The linguine and marinara with meatballs added...not good. The meatballs were bland and not worth adding. The linguine was soggier then Spagghettios. The marinara was decent, actually.
It also took 3 people and 5 minutes to read the ticket screen and figure out that they should add garlic bread on our order. The kitchen itself and heating shelves were cluttered and disorganized, which makes me worried about the overall sanitation. Seems like the management of the kitchen is off.

I Ordered a gluten-free veg falafel wrap and it was extremely disappointing. The falafel tasted like meat and had a very off-putting smell. The wrap itself was hard and brittle, and the entire thing fell apart as soon as I opened the wrapper. Never going back.

I love the restaurant, it is located in such a cool place, has great views, and is really convenient. The downside is everything else.
I recently visited on a late Saturday morning to grab lunch. I ordered a meatball panini with French fries. The restaurant was busy but by no means slammed. I ended up waiting about 25-30 minutes to receive my sandwich, and when it came out, the meatballs were lukewarm at best and the bread had lost its crunch. The fries were hot and makes me think they may have held my order back to make the fries. While normally I appreciate fresh fries this was just not worth the time. On top of that my interaction with the lady behind the counter was not pleasant. She had a sour look on her face when I stepped up to the counter, gave me a bit of a quizzical look when I asked if I could get my sandwich on wheat and then after I declined to leave a tip gave me a very obvious frown of disapproval. All in all I regret going in and it will probably be a long while until I visit again.

Cafesano is easily one of the best spots for Italian and Mediterranean food. I recently tried the meatball panini, and it was exceptional—truly delicious and perfectly moist. You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients. I also have to recommend the pizza; it's absolutely great and a must-try if you visit. Whether you're craving pasta, a panini, or a slice, this place delivers! Highly recommended for quality food and flavor.
We ordered kids pasta for our kids and it was horrible (too spicy) the kids couldn't eat at all even my son started to cry and keep saying my toung is burning. We even find a hair inside the meatballs.
