Sorry I put the wrong review here, which was meant for a different place with similar name.

House of Mandarin was great but it is out of business now (January 2021). It closed several months ago.

I have been a customer of this restaurant for 20 years. Order by phone and pickup or have delivered. I choose pickup to make sure food is hot off the griddle. Hot and sour soup my favorite. The dish that keeps me attending is sesame chicken,,always good

Ordered food from them 2 hours before they closed (8pm) and they accepted and processed the order. They then closed their doors at what I have to imagine was 815-820 because I got there at 830 and the whole place was dark. No sign, no call, no heads up, nothing. Today is Def 27. So also not a holiday. They will not be getting my business again.

This Chinese food is delicious and it's an extremely good value. The prices are very good and they give you a generous amount of savory, balanced and flavorful Chinese food. I was extremely impressed with the taste of the food, I got the sweet and sour chicken which was fresh, light battered, and coated in a sweet and sour sauce that was on point, I also got the low main which was smokey, well seasoned and sauced - all of the food offering the right balance of oil, fat and sauce that Chinese food should. This is definitely going to be my new Chinese takeout spot. I will be back! They also delivered very efficiently, when they said they would and the delivery person was very polite. I recommend this place for sure.

Meat was mostly fat. Sauce watered down and not flavorful. “Fried” rice was just brown rice - had nothing else in it.

Worst Kung Pao Triple Delight I have ever eaten. Owner also yelled at me about no refunds and that they had been in business for 30 years and they would go out of business if they refunded people for the food being bad. Personally I feel they will go out of business sooner based on lousy customer service. My food was so sweet it was disgusting. Dish says it has peanuts and onions, not a single onion was found. Beef, chicken and shrimp also were lightly breaded. Will not order from here again. I asked the owner/rude man why the dish was so sweet, and he told me that they use plum sauce on their Kung Pao dishes. Yuck. Hunan Cafe and China Village in Herndon have way better food, lots of meat and veggies and much fresher than this seemed. I ordered from here to try something new. Waste of money.

Good local restaurant for takeout chinese

Nice man. Hunan chicken was drowning in sauce, and it wasn't spicy. Chicken was very fatty. Ended up eating just the broccoli and mushrooms.
