As a first time patron and now a lifelong supporter I must say that Matchbox is definitely underrated! I had the brunch and EVERYTHING was delicious!!!! Very flavorful and attention to detail! Our waiter Lucas was very friendly and nothing was too much to ask for, he was very accommodating so definitely ask for him when you stop by! Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back soon!

The food was good I didn’t like the grits bc it was cooked properly n the peach mimosa tasted like beer. The manager came over and explained that she was getting things right at this location she only been there for 3 days. The strawberry lemon drops were good the blueberry lemon pancakes were delicious omg tasty. The hot and sweet pizza was also delicious we will definitely be back. We also had an amazing waitress

This was the second matchbox I've been to. (The All Day Brunch on weekends is QUITE a vibe at the Mosaic/Falls Church/Fairfax location and I hear the Brunch in Crystal City is next level.) This trip to the Penn Quarter location was with coworkers and their kids and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the bacon double-cheeseburger, which was cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful and served with tasty fries. I also had a very fresh side salad and a super refreshing ginger beer. The Penn Quarter location does NOT have all day brunch, but it does have excellent service (Thanks, Brenda!), plus it's clean and I want to try the ribs, so they'll get my money again! 😉👍🏽

By far the best experience at a restaurant I have had this year… the entire staff was extremely friendly knowledgeable and accommodating. During my time I literally watched the staff Cesar and Lucas(our waiter) attempt to save the umbrellas outside from flying away it was a severe thunderstorm but looked like a tornado they literally didn’t care for themselves. They went far and beyond to ensure we were safe and protected the property. My food was hot and very delicious this match box location is by far the best on out of the 7 I have been to in my life… don’t skip the cotton candy on your way home.
