Our first time at Not Your Average Joe's at any location. Went for a dinner on Sunday night with my daughter and ordered drinks and main entrees. Everything was good until we realized that all the 3 tables around us were offered complimentary bread and we were the only brown family. I lost my appetite and politely paid the check and left. I hope this is a one off thing and not a regular issue.
This was my first time eating here. The service was awesome. The waitress took good care of me. Pictured: Apple Juice, Crispy Southwest Chicken Salad and Mango Sorbet

I was told that this place food was mediocre so I didn’t have high expectations when I went. But I was surprised by the food quality and friendly staff. Everything was perfect. I surely will come back.

Here for a business dinner, and surprised with the most equally balanced Aviation drink I have seen yet. The food is great but the bartender Evan really knows his stuff and deserves a raise and a bonus. Exceptional customer service and a great time.

When did service change when you have to ask for everything?
My bartender was medium tall, blonde and thin. Friendly, but she never swept the bar for refills or anything. I ordered a Tini! $16.50 Menu says stuffed BC 🫒 Olives. I asked, about them. She made them after getting my drink. No water refill. My martini, dirty, too much juice. No napkin after soup came. BTW my French Onion was the best I ever had, and the young man served from the left which you never see anymore. I had to ask to take my dirty dishes away. I asked for check with CC out for a good while.
One other woman stalking the bar at 6:10 on a Friday night. 8 ppl were the bar.
I did tip 20% after taxes….

The waiter was great, kudos to him for doing his best in a tough situation. The manager (who was very nervous and vocal that he was understaffed in the “back”) was clearly not ready for a busy Saturday night. We waited 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation and we waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. This was the second time in a couple months that we have had poor service at this restaurant (prior time waited almost 60 minutes for our food when the place was less than half full). Unlikely we will return until we know they do a better job managing the flow of customers.
We had a great time at NYAJ in Reston. We were celebrating birthdays and the team there helped us feel so welcomed and special. The food was great, lots of options for a gluten free guest) and the service was excellent. Hailey, our server, even got birthday cards for us! Talk about feeling special. We had a large table and comfortable chairs (another restaurant wanted to squeeze a party of 8 into a table of 6). And the gluten free carrot cake is worth the trip just for dessert! We will be savoring this special day/ lunch for some time. Highly recommend!
Joined some coworkers for lunch; prime location in the center of all the govcon and commercial activities in Reston. I had the ahi tuna poke bowl, which was marvelous. We were seated quickly and the staff took good care of us. Not sure why we weren't asked if we wanted beverages other than water, as I've come to expect that in the dining out experience, but that's such a small ding against what was a really great lunch out. We will be back

Their service is good as well as the complimentary bread and dip. However, I ordered spinach and feta omelet and it was interesting. The egg was like a thin wrap not holding togethee uncooked spinaches and small amount of feta. It comes with greens and home style fries: only one little bite of green leaves and not very flavored potatoes. Their salad was better but I wouldn't recommend omelet.

Food was mediocre. Seemed to be like Farm Rich frozen items from Walmart. Place was empty.

Matt, Travis, and their team at Not Your Average Joe’s are absolutely amazing! I planned a last-minute staff dinner for my preschool teachers, and they delivered nothing short of 5-star service. From start to finish, everything was seamless—the food came out quickly, was filling, and absolutely delicious.
If you’re planning a staff outing, group dinner, or special event, I highly recommend reaching out to Matt and Travis. They’ll make sure you and your team are taken care of and leave feeling appreciated.
Quick disclaimer we consolidated the food onto plates so excuse the presentation that’s all on me ❤️❤️

The food wasn't bad and the service was friendly. The atmosphere is trying to be a bit more than average, hence the name of this place. Felt like an Americana bar food estaurant trying to be a bit fancy.
