Today I went to dinner here with my au pair who was newly arrived from Huancayo. My husband is also Peruvian. I eat here often since it is near my house. We went as a party of five without a reservation and were seated in a central large table in the middle of the restaurant. Five minutes later, a woman identifying herself as the manager with two other staff asked us to come and switch tables. She moved us to a table that was not large enough for our party of five, but I decided it was okay because one of my sons was asleep in his stroller. They told us they would give us 2 appetizers or an entire round of drinks for moving. The waiter from the old table then came over and told us he would make sure the new waiter took care of us.
The service was not bad, the new waiter was fine. However, they did not comp any items on our bill at all, or tell our waiter they had offered us free items for the move. Once we asked, it changed to desserts to go or a free gift card. We didn’t take either because it was clear they didn’t actually mean to keep their promises to us. Considering the woman at the table identified herself as the manager, that was pretty disappointing.
The Lomo Soltado ordered by two of our table was just okay, nothing you can’t get at several other less expensive Peruvian restaurants in the area. The other items we ordered, Pescado a lo Macho and a Leche de Tigre, were better.
The food here overall is inconsistent, some items I have enjoyed over time (I swear the lomo was better at one point), but other items have been disappointing, like the sushi (which made me sick last time I ate it even though it was delicious) or the anticucho platter (which was expensive and not seasoned in the Peruvian style at all).

Awesome food. Carlos did a great job with our party of 10 people. As a Peruvian, I highly recommend him.
Edit: 03/31/2024 - Updated the food rating. Not sure what was going on for Easter brunch but man, did they disappoint me. If a Peruvian cooked that day, they should lose their Peruvian passport .We had grilled meat platter with anticucho that was so bland, just sauces on top, but no flavor. This should not be served anywhere that has the Peru name on top.
To top it off , we got 2 clasicos - it's supposed to be mazamorra with arroz con leche. The mazamorra was anything but mazamorra - it seems they forgot to put a whole ingredient (cornstarch) so it was watery chicha. We had to send it back.
On a good note, the ceviches were good. The lomo sandwich was ok, but you should bring the sauces by default, not wait until I ask for it
09/26/2025 - Not sure why I give this place more chances. I guess it's my fault. Now they couldn't even give us a good lomo saltado - it was like a Temu version of a real lomo saltado. That's like Peruvian food 101. To top it off, they made us move tables and they offered to give us a free appetizer or drink for agreeing. To be honest, I didn't agree because of the offer but because I thought it made sense and I was trying to be nice. But given that they offered that, the manager herself said she was going to do make sure our new waiter was aware. Guess what? He wasn't. I wasn't going to make a fuzz about this, but it makes me angry that they ask a family to move tables, they agreed in a nice way and they cannot even remember what they promised. This is on the manager. So at this point, it's not just mid and below food quality but also mediocre customer service. So my rating goes down to 0.
There are better Peruvian restaurants here, if one of them was in Reston town center, this place would be empty. To the management, please do better.

Odaliz was amazing. She provided amazing service and was super attentive, sharing her experiences about Peru and their cuisine. The food was amazing (Lomo Saltado and Pollo Causa) and the atmosphere is cozy. We were able to sit, eat and talk without feeling rushed. It was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this restaurant.
