Accidentally ordered for pick up at 330 pm so I call to cancel right away they took 22 minutes to cancel my order and I reordered for delivery. Placed the reorder at 3:56 pm dasher arrived at 4:22 pm and it left the restaurant at 5:02 pm. When the dasher arrived the order wasn’t ready. I ordered 2 bowls. I called at 4:43 to check on the order and they said it was not ready because I had changed my order however 15 minutes later they said it hadn’t left because “your dasher isn’t here and we don’t do curbside” how would the dasher know it’s ready if he already checked 30 minutes before and it wasn’t ready. Very frustrated with the service. Do better.

Constantly messes up orders, and now Uber won't provide me partial refunds anymore because it happens so often

When this restaurant initially came out, I was quite the regular and I would say it was a four to borderline five stars establishment. Consistently amazing food in a rather quick turn over time, once upon a time. Fast forward to the modern day and there are not only countless errors with orders (eg missing condiments which are parcel an entree and otherwise cost $), but poor to average execution a little over 65% of the time with good to slightly above good but not great execution a little less than 35% of the time; culinary choices that are befuddling (e.g. putting guacamole and lettuce IN quesadillas); lack of seasoning and flavor; slight to heavy upcharges on long-time staples; slow and ambiguous preparation times; and nonchalant, confused, gruff, and occasionally outright disrespectful staff. I find myself struggling whether to offer 2 or 3 stars. The parent restaurant, Uncle Julio's, which for some reason seems popular and successful in the DMV--and particularly so in Reston--garners a 1 to 2 star review. Are they separate entities? Yes. Is there some spillover, and cause for concern? Yes. This all makes me sad as the amount of business they garner on a consistent basis is not indicative of the quality of dining or experience one would surmise; and, accordingly, the expectation incumbent such a seemingly well-oiled machine. For my readers and the public interest, I may venture a 3rd return to an Uncle Julio's, simply so I may provide a timely and accurate review. But it will be unpleasant; it will be depressing; it will be soul-crushing. But I suffer and toil for the interest of others, what can I say? As to this restaurant, Savage Burrito, I will possibly repeat patronage given their recurring penchant to advertise deals on Uber Eats. Even with the deals, however, I dare not (1) make an order if I am to eat with my fiance, as I would not (nor would she want to be) subject her to such, depending on the day, culinary squallor or mediocrity; (2) share this food with others who I am trying to host from out of town; nor (3) order from here without an amazing deal; until or if things go back to how they once were; but 2 years prior. Tragic. Recommendation to the staff/owners: go back 2 years and think of what made you initially successful. Recommendation to patrons: don't do it or come with tepid expectations, if not rebuttable presumptions of anticipated disappointment.

The ordered was delivered to me did not have the can of Coke. Now most of the time when people order drinks, they usually put them in the bag with the rest of the order, but that was not the case.

I order from this place often. But for some reason , a quarter of the time they give me the wrong order. Today I ordered an OG bowl and they did NOT include meat. They only filled half the bowl and spread it around to make it look fuller. I ALWAYS seem to have an issue with them either not giving me meat, or a small portion of it. I asked for extra meat once, and I got a few pieces of Nashville chicken. I love the flavor of their food and if they weren’t so horrible at getting my order right , then I’d continue to eat here. In the picture below you can see that they spread cheese all over one side of the bowl to make it look like a full sized bowl.

My son said his burrito was the worst he’s ever had. 80% rice, no meat and no flavor. And this is the 2nd time. I paid extra for guacamole and got none on my Savage bowl. Food here is good one day and absolutely horrible the next.- horribly inconsistent.

I’m not sure what has happened to this place. When I first started ordering from here about 6-9 months ago I was quite happy with the food I was getting. The burritos were tasty, the quesadillas were filling, and the queso was perfect. However, my last 3 orders have been lacking. Not only has the food quality gone down, but I haven’t received a correct order. Something is always missing from the order. The items that I do receive don’t taste as good as they used to. The quesadillas are covered in grease, to the point where it is dripping from the box.Whoever is on quality control for this restaurant needs to take a look at what is being sent out to customers.

STAY AWAY from ordering delivery from this place!! THE WORST delivery I've had from them was tonight. Typically they mess up one or two minor things, and I report it through Door Dash and get a small amount of money back. But tonight I didn't receive my quesadilla, instead I received a bowl of veggies on a bed of sour cream. The green hatch queso was a disgustingly weird queso with shrimp inside! Good thing I don't have a shellfish allergy!! And as usual, my partner always gets the nashville hot chicken bowl and she ALWAYS receives it with mixed greens when she only orders romaine. When correct, the food is good, but it is a rarity for them to get everything right in an order. Savage Burrito just lost a customer tonight. ?

The food is same quality as Uncle Julios and prices are better BUT the wait times have gotten longer with each order and always go over anticipated ready time by 10-15 min.

Quality has been inconsistent as of late and twice in recent weeks I was presented with an order that had allergens (cheese) present. The first time it was not noted and I consumed a bite before having a violent retching episode, followed by an allergic reaction, and did not feel well for a couple of days (consistent with such exposure from other incidents). Last night, same issue, but this time I saw the cotilla chess on the outside of the burrito and opened it to find it throughout and did not consume it. While I was refunded, they never even offered to make it right, and as a result I had no dinner. I had actually been looking forward to a burrito for dinner and was left with an order in the trash. Better than many Chipotle outlets is not a compliment in this context because it seems that Savage has taken the same trajectory from an awesome concept to mediocrity. I, too, had blame shifted to the delivery service after the apology, something that I cannot fathom because I do not think that they made the burrito, something that management has assured me is a very rare occurrence because everything is listed on the receipt. Everything else was correct from what I could see, but there's no value added when the customer is allergic and must dispose of the meal upon receipt. I agree with another reviewer who said that someone in your household will go hungry from an order at what used to be a safe, quick delivery option for our household. However, given another instance of food not prepared to specifications that can cause health problems for the customer, it is going to be a while before we order from Savage again. And, by extension, Uncle Julio's is also not going to be a top pick because of the same kitchen. How an order that specifically has on the receipt "No Cheese" from the restaurant's own computerized order system as a line item like rice, tomatoes, etc. can come out of the kitchen with cheese on the outside of the burrito and inside of it is beyond comprehension. A Wednesday night is hardly prime time busy, either, so I would not accept that the kitchen was especially busy. And, to not offer to replace it, prepared properly is a profound lack of customer care, which begs the question if they care so little about getting things correct and performing to the expected standard, I.e., a cut above fast food like a Chipotle or McDonalds, why should a customer care to place multiple orders a month on average with this restaurant group?
