Nice spot for a drink & snack while catching up with a friend or working on a project
The ordering process is a little slow & the parties were mediocre when I visited in the afternoon

Pastries were very good, stay away from anything with cooked eggs. The eggs, toast, and hash browns were brought to our table very cold. We were the third people there when it opened Sunday morning so it shouldn't have had a chance to sit around and get cold. You would think the person bringing the food to the table would have realized that the dishes were cold and done something about it. We have gone there many times and the pastries/coffee has always been great. I guess its hard to find good kitchen help in Reston.

Absolutely my favorite spot for cappuccino! The coffee here is exceptional, and I can't get enough of it. Highly recommend this place for any coffee lover!

The place is super cute and the lady taking my order was very nice and had some recommendations. It's kind of pricey for lunch for what you get so be ready for that but more importantly my salad had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The chicken was very dry and not
Much of it. I would not eat here again, which is unfortunate because it's pretty cute place

Got some to go food! The beans were the best for breakfast. The chicken salad sandwich was also good.

Dont come here, I watch a youtube video of ESCOOTERNINJA and this place has bad costumer service. Also, in the video the worker was touching the bakery without glove.

This place just makes your insides feel warm and cozy. Often I see people on their laptops, writing in a journal or enjoying the company of one other. The little treats are so thoughtful and cute. The drinks are carefully cultivated and delicious. Plenty of clean bathrooms too ?

Nice quick stop for breakfast. Blueberry muffin was delicious, packed with Blueberries and not overly sweet

We had the Breakfast Sandwich and Avocado Tartine. Both were excellent. Nice outside seating. The place was hopping on Sunday morning.

Great bakery and decent food in my experience—come with an appetite because the portions are gigantic. The coffee is really good, but I suggest ordering ahead of time to avoid a super long wait (and, okay, it takes 3 minutes to make a shot and five minutes to brew a pot of coffee, so as to why it takes 15-20 minutes for a latte is a bit dumbfounding… I made that mistake once and have ordered ahead since) I have never had an issue with stale bakery items. I will miss the maple walnut carrot cake—it was the best!
The menu is tasty. I had the breakfast sandwich (wanted eggs over medium but got an over easy egg… that’s okay other than that I prefer to eat my eggs, not drink them, but this of course is not good for people who cannot eat raw ingredients, like cancer patients in active treatment which I used to be one) and a croissant (I did not want it… I ordered a donut but they messed up my order). Both were good despite the latter not being what I wanted. I also got a 12 oz iced latte. It was refreshing and the beans are quite good and taste high quality. I enjoy and look forward to my weekend iced lattes. It’s pricey but it’s actually cheaper than a Starbucks flat white and tastes 1000x better.
I am disappointed that they aren’t being careful with orders and gave me the croissant instead of the donut. They weren’t busy when I came in, so I do not know what happened. Bad on me for not checking my order, but I rely on those who prepare takeout orders to get it right. I got a refund because I was not given what I paid for and that is appreciated and is probably the bare minimum response to a wrong order, but the lady I spoke to on the phone was pretty flippant and didn’t even apologize for the mix up. She probably needs a lesson in customer service. As for me, I do not have time to deliver an attitude adjustment and that is also not my job. Besides, I got a refund so I won’t make too much of a funk. I will have to wait another month to get a donut though (sadly).
So, yeah, the service is poor… mediocre at best. This is not out of the ordinary for Reston as I rarely have good service at RTC or Reston Station. I say that Reston has the worst service because the employees are generally snooty and do not appear to care about customer satisfaction. It must be a Loudon County proximity issue (Reston is in Fairfax but right by Ashburn… but Tysons and Merrifield are in Fairfax but closer to DC and Arlington and have MUCH better service—nicer, more caring people with a bit more southern hospitality and as good of food).
Otherwise, Tatte Bakery offers a decent atmosphere—it can get very busy on the weekends, so be aware of this if you want to dine in. There is ample outdoor seating although this is not ideal in the winter.
Tatte Bakery should open a cafe in Fairfax Corner. It would be very popular. :)
