I was the first customer through the door this particular Saturday and hadn’t eaten for 18 hours. Ted’s Huevos Rancheros did not disappoint.Lovely old soul music playing in the diner too

Went to have dinner after watching a movie Allen was our server. For the most part, he was honestly sweet and had a lovely smile. I try not to be negative in reviews; I just like honesty. We ordered the jalapeño poppers for the table, and those were pretty delicious. We enjoyed the twist of them being wontons. I ordered the chicken piccata for my entrée, along with a pineapple ginger mimosa. The mimosa lacked the pineapple flavor profile but was okay to drink. The chicken piccata wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm very fond of this dish and was searching for the lemon taste you usually get with it, but it lacked that. It wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't for me. My husband decided on a simple appetizer as his meal: loaded tater tots. He wasn't fond of them much except for the tots themselves. The bacon was overcooked. The sour cream used tasted off, he told me. Our daughter had French toast as her meal. She enjoyed it for the most part except for a slight sogginess in the center. Our son had the BLT wrap. He thoroughly enjoyed it and how fresh and not overcooked the fries were. My daughter and I wanted to try the cherry blossom tres leches. Let's just say that it was severely lacking in the tres leches department. I couldn't resist making a joke that it was drier than my husband's jokes. But the topping was so good. I'm just so disappointed at how dry it was, considering it's supposed to be a moist milk cake. I will go with the cons... Here are some things I am disappointed in besides my previous comments on the food: 1) Our server gave us a cup of water that had a gelatinous, cream-type substance on the cup, maybe syrup. He did mend this when we asked for another water 2) I asked for a spoon to use with my pasta. When our server brought it to me, he placed it on the table instead of handing it to me. I did mention this to him, and he did apologize, but it's something I noted mentally. 3) When I ordered my cappuccino, while I understood not everyone wants sugar, when I asked for sugar, the suggestion should have been to offer a spoon for me to stir it. I was not given this option and had to opt for a butter knife that was already provided. It is a nice and family-friendly restaurant. I did like the ambiance of the place and how they displayed their homemade Pop-Tart-style pastries. I did have the pleasure of speaking to the manager, and he did remove the cake , give us a discount, and give us free tarts. I will note that I was not seeking any type of free or discounted food; I just wanted to give an honest review and share my experience. I will also note that I did see our server was doing his best in other areas, as he was waiting on a few tables.

Went on March 16th when our son was home. It has been his favorite place for years. My husband even gives us gift cards to enjoy Ted's. Previously we have had solid service from Mr. Genero and other staff members. During Covid we were avid customers. Take out was a regular event. When we went on the 16th, we were suggested to take a high top in the bar as there were very few customers there. From the beginning, eye rolling because we didn't need menus. We knew what we wanted to order, and that was met with disfavor. All day breakfast? I was told they were out of biscuits. Our breakfasts came, my son's pancakes were smaller than normal. I had asked for a biscuit and was told they were out. Our food was served, the bartender never checked on us. She was a few feet away. It took a while to attract her attention. I ordered a pop tart and sweets to go. I sat watching her hang out with co-workers...they were having a lively discussion. One left and came back, eating a biscuit‍ When we were finally able to obtain the bill, I pointed out that the young man was eating one. At no point did I raise my voice. I wanted to leave. The bartender with drama walked off to get the manager. The manager asked to explain and I said, "Please, we'd like to go..." She kept talking and I asked, "Please, we want to pay the bill and go..." We had been finished and it was so truly painful. I could understand if the young lady was slammed, but she wasn't. I had previously asked about the cherry poptarts that we saw on Instagram -the bartender said, "Oh, we don't follow the other restaurants...we'll have them at the end of the week..." The manager came over and said, "Oh, come back after 4...we'll have them." My son's favorite restaurant was off. Stories didn't align. We usually go in, eat and leave. We've never had an experience like this at Ted's. Mr Genero came over...he is always so kind and considerate. He was apologizing, but it wasn't his fault. Please, figure out what's going on. This has been our go-to for years.

Great service, we had breakfast on a Saturday morning and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the presentation, and the service. We ordered the avocado toast with salmon, blueberry French Toast, and huevos rancheros with mimosas. A great way to start the weekend!!

Got the breakfast burrito during lunch hour. Was really good. The service on the other hand needs a lot of improvement here.

We sat down for breakfast today, a Sunday, at 8 am. We ordered a cinnamon roll, but we were told that the cinnamon rolls wouldn't be ready until 8:30, so we ordered other breakfast items. Since we were craving something sweet and we were unable to get the cinnamon roll, we decided to get a slice of Pumpkin Layer Cake to go for later. The cake is awful. Tastes like it has been in a freezer since Halloween, which was 131 days ago, and the menu description said toasted pecans, there are no pecans, toasted or otherwise. I think we are done with Ted.

Extensive and interesting menu - I had a hard time choosing between several items that also have gluten free options! Super attentive waiter - and the chef was super on top of a special dietary sensitivity/request in our party.

Complete disappointment. The grilled salmon felt more like boiled salmon, and the rest of the food was also very mediocre. It was my first and definitely last time at this restaurant.

I stopped in here for lunch on a recent trip to Reston. Place was pretty empty on a Thursday at noon. I sat at the counter but it took a while before any staff was seen. Once I had a menu and planned my order (steak and eggs), service was fairly quick. Food was pretty good. It was a flat iron steak prepared as ordered. Eggs were done as ordered as well. Served with some home fried type potatoes. Never see the staff member again until I hunted him down for the check. Slightly pricey but not too bad.
