The chicken and ranch box lunch was delicious
WOW WOW WOW! I'm a teacher and my school ordered from Apple Spice! Never before ( at a box school lunch caterer) have I had the interesting selection and quality offered here. My caprese salad was not only delicious and fresh, but it was beautifully presented. Thank you! Highly recommended!
Had the Herb Chicken on delicious bread, and the sliced chicken was plentiful, and delicious as well. Apple Spice chose the right combinations of other foods in the boxed lunch that went well with the Herb Chicken. The condiments were the right size for one sandwich, and they gave you a choice of which you preferred. I cannot say one negative remark in reference to the above, and I highly recommend Apple Spice, the entire meal was perfect.
I attended a function today that was catered by Apple Spice. I have mixed feelings about the lunch box I chose. This is my first time hearing about them, and I can say I am impressed with their packaging. I have had many catered meals; the carboard boxes they use here are perfect, if not over the top. Sturdy and survived the day, even the ride home. The “club” sandwich was just okay, nothing wrong with it, but nothing good either. Just a plain sandwich that appeared to have a slice removed for some reason. Please use bags, that plastic wrap is attrocious. The micro-cup of “sandwich spread” was bland… verging on being better if it had not been included. The cookie was over the top sweet. Almost inedible. The dill pickle spear, while tasty, was very aromatic. I know this because the tiny ziploc bag they put it in, along with a comparable amount of brine, broke open in my travels. My truck now smells like a pickle jar. To me there are worse smells… but still. I am unsure what it will smell like after an afternoon in 90° heat. Should be very pleasant indeed. Now for the real issue. I am not sure what attempt at cuteness someone was going for with the included side. I have eaten in all 50 states, 4 continents and 26 foreign nations. Food from all walks of life. Never have I encountered something with a name so unappetizing as “FROG EYE SALAD”. Not sure what it is supposed to be, noone at the event had ever heard of it, my wife had not, my 84 year old southern mother in law hadn’t. And none wanted to even attempt it. I am not usually squeemish when it comes to food… but this… a whole ‘nother level. I did what everyone one else likely did. Threw it away Chips would have better. Just seeing “FROG EYE SALAD” on the box made me want to rethink eating anything.Just…NO!! Please stop.As a side note… a real napkin would have been nice too.I truly hope someone who cares actually reads this and makes a change or two.Edit/update:A few of us actually did attempt the aforementioned “FROG EYE SALAD”. The comments ranged from “ewwww”, “that’s disgusting”, and my wife spit it back out.As for me, it is easily the most vile substance I have put in my mouth in many years, and I was in Cambodia last year.Approach with caution. This substance is odd… at best. The most difficult thing for me is not being able to say anything positive about it; save it being free to me. Exercise caution.
A top 5 Italian sandwich, definitely. I’m sure it’s because of the flavored bread. Great place.
This place has the best Apple Cider Vinegar salad dressing, the best Cashew Chicken Salad, the best Waldorf salad, the best chicken salad, the best bread. OMG! Great customer service too! I've ordered food for my office and when I need a little something for my weekend, I'll add 2 salads on a Thursday order just for me. I've not once had anything bad.
Went to the one on East parham Rd Richmond va. AWFUL!!! Got a bowl of what was supposed to be old fashioned chicken noodle soup, the onion flavor was so strong that it was the only thing I could taste. The soup was tepid, barely even warm. Normally I would put butter in the soup and it would melt it. I didn't even attempt to put butter in it this time because I knew it would not melt. I also bought what I was told was freshly baked bread. There is no way the honey wheat bread that I received was anywhere near fresh. It was dry and just a real disappointment. This used to be my go to for lunch as well as used them for catering board meetings and office lunch. So very disappointed in apple spice junction. Will never go again. If you want to spend 15.00 on cold onion soup with stale bread the apple spice junctions is for you.
Strongly suggest updating Google to reflect operational changes such as no more counter service ordering!
I order catering from them for work. We have ordered almost half the menu, from the taco bar, fajita bar, pasta bar, and the boxed lunches. The food it aways delivered on time, fresh, and the team is really friendly. I love working with them!
Super sad to watch this place go downhill. They no longer do dine in and can rarely handle our multiple orders. They are often out of supplies. They used to have delicious food, fresh made bread and excellent hospitality. I hope you can get back to where you once were.

Great place to get your lunch from.
Placed an order for 11:30-11:45 for business lunch online. Get a call the next day from Apple Spice telling me they are super busy and the closet time slot available for my day is 10:45. So apparently their online ordering is third party and the time slots are basically useless since they schedule off their own method of taking in online orders, called in orders and faxes and then decide what time they have available for everyone. Stupid system and will never order from them again.
Our office has ordered from them many times. Our orders have been perfect, on time and delicious. Highly recommend!
Awesome food but third time trying to place a same day order. Was told NO. Won't bother you all again
Food is good, but if you want to do a group order, you have to call to make sure they have enough food for the day you need it delivered. Otherwise, you find out 2 days before your event that the group order form you sent out to clients, is moot and they can't handle your 7 people.
