I'm a frequent visitor and I've always spoken highly of the Bar even when others did not the staff are great but The Owner!?? rude nasty hateful I requested information on a Bill his response hateful immature disrespectful I will never attend the bar again as long as he is the owner and I will not recommend it as I always have over the year's as a resident.......DONE

My Experience at Barcode Bar — Do Not Waste Your Time
You know something’s wrong when you sit down, stare at an empty bar, and no one even acknowledges you for half an hour. That was just the start of a disastrous evening at Barcode. I watched staff running around serving some people repeatedly, while ignoring others completely — no rhyme or reason, just favoritism or bad attitude.
When I finally flagged someone down, I got smirks and attitude. The bartenders seemed to be auditioning for worst service in RVA. Two people in my group were flat out ignored when they tried ordering. One friend who has dietary restrictions told me later she started feeling ill after eating there — she’s now convinced it was food poisoning.
What’s worse: this place claims to be inclusive, yet others have reported blatant mistreatment of trans and femme folks. I wouldn’t trust them to apply respect fairly. Oh — and if you think opening your tab will protect you, think again. One customer claims they were charged $150 + for other people’s tickets, without their okay, and when they asked for a manager they were literally hung up on. That’s not a mistake — that’s theft.
To top it off, the ordering system is a mess. You have to order at specific ends of the bar, but nobody tells you, and it’s confusing. The whole layout feels like someone half designed it and walked away.
Look — if you want shady service, poor treatment, and the possibility of getting sick, go ahead and try Barcode. For everyone else, there are plenty of bars in RVA doing it right.

I used a wheelchair and I was surprised and I'm happy to say that when I arrived at the entrance. And when I went to the smoking area, a ramp was laid out in front of me, which made it very easy to go in. And out and they adhere to when I wanted to go in and out during the night. it was an awesome way to enjoy my time at barcode.

Not trans friendly and not femme friendly. CREEPY PEOPLE! Don’t trust the food cause it got my friend hospitalized for food poisoning. I bet they pay their health inspector. Go somewhere more inviting and safe where the staff don’t look like they would rather be 6 feet deep!
