Fun place cool industrial look
Great food. Great drinks. Ash is the friendliest bartender!
Loved the environment here but unfortunately the bartenders Curtis & Sawyer are too rude for me to even have a good time. Everytime I’ve been in they’re unnecessarily rude. Actually felt unsafe last time I came because after I closed out I calmly told Curtis he had been pretty rude the whole night & he raised his voice at me, told me he was cutting me off. Then tried to take my drink out of my hand that he had already served me, knowing I had only had 2 beers & wasn’t impaired. Then he chased me out of the brewery creating an unnecessary embarrassing scene. While yelling at me he was calling the cops….Unprovoked as I was actively leaving. I’m not the only one who has issues with the bartenders. So be careful sticking up for yourself here.
The pils was very smooth! Plenty of seating !
Listen to everything I said..!! And went straight to it
Amazing brewery - fantastic beer, great people, and a great environment
Always one of my favorite places to have a cold craft beer in Richmond! Great staff, great service, great food and of course great beer. A must stop when in RVA
Great bar. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Come for the beer, stay for the pizza! It's incredible y'all!
Love basic! The staff treats you like family and the beers taste delicious!

Great for mellow dogs, the buttermilk trail nearby is a great pre-workout.
love this place, great beer, events and people
This place is way bigger than it appears from the outside. It's kind of tucked away and easy to miss. It's got a number of games like ping pong, corn hole, and a karaoke/mic area. The beer and pizza were both quite good.
Basic City RVA is our favorite place to hang out around town, the environment is chill, the pizza and beer are great. The staff is what really pulls it all together. They also have a large event space.
Mention the eviction-to-homelessness pipeline happening in the neighborhood and the owner Curtis will tell you that he hopes anyone who can’t afford to keep his bar open gets evicted. Don’t worry though, he only means it as a joke 🙄
