Mushy crabs means they were dead before they were cooked. Brown gills may mean they were either farmed or dredged which means living in dirty conditions beyond the river or bay floor (“bottom”) where they normally reside. It can also mean they came from polluted water. Read the reviews of others and make your own judgment and then find a reputable place to purchase fresh crabs.

I should have read the reviews first. I ordered the #1 meal that includes trout, shrimp, and fries. The meal was awful: think, bland breading, and some shrimp weren’t even deveined (see photo). The seafood didn’t taste fresh. To make matters worse, I saw workers using the same gloves to grab food from the refrigerator and then cook, which is concerning.

Went to the market to buy a bushel of crabs to get home the big ones on top all the rest of them was very small had no legs on them

This was absolutely disappointing. I ordered six blue crabs number ones. I got maybe two number ones several number twos maybe a smaller one most of were missing their claws and legs.

I have had only one bad experience, whenever I get my Crab kickers the Tray is filled nicely. One time they didn't have much in the Tray,I felt cheated.
