This place is too boojee for the staff to seemingly have literally no idea how to make an espresso or even what elements comprise an espresso (to say nothing of them not having the appropriate cups / glasses to serve them properly). Multiple tries in the last year or so to see if someone there gets it, but now that I'm almost $100 deep in unbearably bad coffees, hoping this review motivates management to dial this in. Huge disconnect and disappointment.

I used to love Birdies, especially the seafood tower, crab dip, and their holiday drinks. I was genuinely obsessed a couple of years ago, so I was excited to come back.

The aesthetic today was still great, but the food was very much lacking. We were really disappointed to learn they no longer offer the seafood tower, but we let that go and ordered the crab dip instead. What came out looked like it had been blended in a Ninja blender thin, runny, almost like a soup. And it was served with Ritz crackers. We were floored.

After tasting it, we decided to cancel our oyster order (which thankfully hadn’t been made yet) and left. Honestly, I’m so glad we didn’t spend more.

I really hope they return to the quality they used to have, because right now it’s not the Birdies I remember.

I love Christmas & we were excited to see evergreens and get drinks. I saw it online in a video someone posted. There were seats open at the bar this was around 8pm and the bartender was agitated and scolded us because we sat down at the bar without seeing the hostess that wasn’t there to begin with and I didn’t see any signs saying you can’t sit at the bar. I’ve never been to a bar where you need a hostess to sit. So we awkwardly went back to the front then the hostess appears I tell her we just wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink and she tells us sorry you can sit there. Then I didn’t see any signs or anything saying this so maybe I missed it but they apply 20% auto gratuity and I didn’t know this until my bill came. Terrible business practice. I do not recommend this place at all go to one of the other Christmas pop ups.

Holiday theme was wonderfully done! Great themed cocktails, delicious small/appetizer food & great decorations!

We went to Birdies today which was doing their Evergreen takeover for the holidays and loved it. The food was great. The staff was attentive and friendly. I had just run the Richmond and they were kind of enough to seat us even though I was underdressed. They didnt make us feel rushed at all. Would definitely go back.

I didn’t eat or drink a drop at Birdie’s tonight, but I DID go in and leave just beaming. I’m a longtime fan of their festive Evergreen wintertime pop up. I’ve been known to set alarms on my phone to hop online as soon as reservations opened to secure my spot. It’s worth it. Drinks are festive, vibes are high, food is tasty. They’re always full during Evergreen season, and this year they creatively used that power and popularity to do some real GOOD. Reservations had to be made in person - in exchange for donations to Feed More. What an awesome idea and wonderful way to channel the excitement for the season into helping the community in a time of real need. I’m proud to be a customer and can’t wait for my reservation!

Where to begin! Restaurant week was so amazing here. The service here is incredible! Not only did they accommodate us when we did not have reservations, they made space for us. Specifically this gentleman in a blue shirt, I was not able to catch his name, with a nice trimmed mustache. He was an incredible host and waiter. The amazing blonde bartender was so friendly and had incredible service skills. He also accommodated us with non alcoholic drinks. The food was Incredible. They had multiple options like a vegan, gluten, and dairy free for the menu items. The menu was incredible from start to finish. Instantly making this establishment a favorite. The desert just melted in our mouths and I was shocked at how fast I ended up at the last bite of it. Incredible staff from the front to the back. a total 5/5 from us.

Visited Birdie's for the first time during Restaurant Week. The food came out cold and didn’t taste great. We ordered different dishes for all three courses and were disappointed for most (oysters were fine). The cocktails were the only highlight. Service was fine, and the restaurant itself was nice inside.

Sat at the bar, service was terrible. Only two other people at the bar. Waited 10 minutes to get a beer. Ordered some oysters, after 20 minutes we asked the waitress if they would be up soon. She then went to the computer and entered our order. Customers arriving well after us were served and departed before we got our food. It didnt appear that all wait staff was incompetent, but the one behind the bar that waited on us certainly was.

Birdie's is the best! You seriously HAVE to try their martini. Style Weekly voted them best in Richmond and I couldn't agree more with their vote. It was so good!!!

We had had a mix up with a reservation a couple of weeks ago, and Birdie's more than made up for it. They comped our anniversary dinner and even added special touches like personalized menus and flowers. Not only is the service exceptional, but the food and drinks were delicious. In a day when customer service isn't always a priority, it is refreshing to go to an establishment that will look for ways to make the customer feel special. Thank you, Nicole, for making our anniversary so special!

This has some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The ambience is fun yet relaxing, the staff makes some great recommendations. The food is terrific. The oysters are fresh and the mussels are perfectly prepared. The lobster roll (Connecticut style) is delicious with the roll matching the buttery lobster. The birdies chips are fantastic, perfectly seasoned and crunchy. A great experience.
