Blanchard's Coffee Broad Street

I’ve been missing that taste of coffee, I’ve had to cut back due to some underlying health problems and I’ve been craving that hint of espresso due to my pregnancy. So when I came in here to order a 12 ounce latte with a single shot, for some reason they could not fulfill my order. The cashier, then the barista told me they could do a half caffeinated latte but both shots would be in the latte. I did not want half caffeinated latte with both shots cause then the taste of both shots would be a little overwhelming. All I wanted was a single shot latte just to experience a small taste of coffee. And for some reason the staff just did not want to fulfill my order when I’m paying for it. I did not want to hold up the line or bicker over my drink when Blanchards was busy. I just wanted my cravings fulfilled. I used to love Blanchards, but I don’t think I’d come back here.

I had heard Blanchard's had one of the best cups of coffee in the city, but I found it had an unpleasant, tangy acidity that dominated the whole flavor profile and left a long lingering bad aftertaste. The people were friendly and the atmosphere was fine but I wouldn't go out of my way for the coffee.

Coffee was great! I got a vanilla latte and it was delicious. Cute vibes in here. They have outdoor seating too which is a bonus! Unfortunately, the lady taking my order and the barista who made my coffee were not very friendly or welcoming. When I was placing my order, the lady was snappy towards me and the barista did not acknowledge me when I talked to her. Yummy coffee, but won’t be back because of the interactions I had with the staff.

Best tasting sugar free vanilla latte I’ve ever had. I usually go for regular vanilla but tried the sugar free today and usually you can taste the gross difference. But this latte was so smooth and nutty, and the vanilla was subtle so I didn’t get that gross synthetic sugar-free taste. Love this place

Hands down best coffee in Richmond. Their overnight oats are also excellent.

Delish coffee and Danish morning buns very good service and love the atmosphere.

Coffee beans are fantastic, service is super quick, space is interesting but super busy. I would never be comfortable trying to have a conversation with someone there or trying to get any work done. Baked goods are just ok. I’d rank this a solid 7/10 in coffee shops. Top 5 in RVA for sure.

Richmond had so many great coffee spots, And Blanchard's ranks highest among them. Beartrap Espresso is my daily driver at home, and with the ample space provided at the Broad St location, it's the perfect meeting spot. Love it!

Mid coffee. Not bad not great. Not worth the hype. Looks as if it gets good reviews simply for some millennial aesthetic.

If you like a good strong coffee this is the place to go to. I had a oatmilk latte. It was just the right temperature, nice foam and you could taste the coffee over the oatmilk. Will go again.

By far the best coffee served in Richmond. They're traditionalists in flavor and approach, always prioritizing quality of the drinks they served. Over the years, I've come dozens of times and the quality remains unmoved- something very difficult to accomplish with waves of staff changes over time.
The food options are limited, with focus on drink quality. Its so good y'all, just go. They also have great hours and incredibly fast wifi - a great spot to settle into for some remote work.

Parking: There are a limited number of spots in their lot but people move in and out fairly quickly, making it easy to park with a bit of patience.

Excellent coffee and service. The whole layout is perfect too with great seating and some of the most friendly and talented baristas. The beans are roasted very well and I haven’t had a bad pull of espresso there ever. Prices are completely fair and honestly cheap for the quality.
