I attended the Vegan Takeover a month ago and it was the best dining experience I have had in a very long time. If this was a vegan restaurant it would most certainly warrant 5 stars! The Vegan Takeover consisted of small shareable plates served in courses. Each one was my favorite until the next one arrived. Though I went with friends and sat on the market side, it would be a great choice for a date night with your favorite vegan foodie seated in the more formal dining room side!
restaurant with a wonderful ambiance and very very friendly staff. food excellent. fine dining extra good. If I could I wouldn't give it five stars.
Bas was one of the best servers I have ever had. He was very calm, confident, helpful. He made excellent recommendations and really enhanced the experience. It was my friends birthday dinner and he noticed we ordered mocktails, so he brought her a glass of sparkling NA “rose”. Very kind gesture. The food was incredible. Our favorites were the Mezze platter and the popcorn chicken. The artichokes were also delicious. Finally, the gooey butter cake was to die for. The shrub and tonic mocktail was perfect. Highly recommend!

Ate an incredible meal of multiple smaller plates for our group of six - every one of our selections (including the lasagna, the brie and sourdough toast, the cauliflower, the dumplings, the bao buns, the burrito, pretty much EVERYTHING!) was amazing! Especially the desserts (gooey butter cake and pistachio profiteroles)!
Service was top-notch!

Tonight we had a very special dining experience in Richmond. Blue Atlas was exceptional in every way. Katie, our server, went above and beyond to help us. Every bite was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dinner options. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

I just don’t understand how one restaurant, that frequently changes its offerings, can absolutely NAIL every dish they prepare. We have had nothing but 5 ⭐️ experiences here and tonight for Bastille night was the highlight of them all thus far. Absolutely, hands down, an amazing restaurant with a staff that is the best of the best!!!

This was my second time enjoying everything Blue Atlas has to offer. Our server, Lillian, was delightful. My friend and I shared four plates, each with such distinct and rich flavors. We took a chance walking in at 5:45 without reservations, knowing we could be seated at the bar or outside. Fortunately there had just been a cancellation, so we were seated at an inside table right away. Once it is not so hot out, we are looking forward to enjoying the outdoor patio. What a great place to have here in Richmond!

I just love this place- it’s become a go- to for everything! Food and service are great- it can be a little loud but it’s just such a good place, I am ok with it- I celebrated a birthday there and it felt very special
I can not get over this place! The owners should be really proud because everything is always amazing. Bar Service is always so nice and helpful. The food is AMAZING! So many cool flavors and it’s so much fun to try the new things. They should be nominated for a James Beard !

I can't claim this is a well-kept secret, because any peek at the reviews shows plenty of people , but it doesn't s off the beaten path. The atmosphere Saturday morning was frankly serene, unlike the insane bustle of most Richmond brunch spots. Good coffee, absolutely delicious food, and delightful staff make it well worth the few extra minutes past Shockoe or what have you. The fact the the building -mixed use with artist studios and apartments as well as the restaurant- has an actual parking lot is icing on a fantastic cake.
We had the pork belly bahn mi (also comes in tofu!) a nice salad, the thai steak wrap, and some tater tots with our coffee and espresso, and left feeling pleasantly satisfied without being weighed down by huge portions or super heavy food (much as i do love chicken and waffles). They serve the whole menu til 230 pm, so you can get anything you like, and there's both indoor, bar, and patio seating on a lovely covered porch.
Absolutely coming back, if i have to hitchhike to do it.

The food was a ten and the service was even better. We had a server named Jen, who was fantastic. Friendly, engaging, and she had the best recommendations. Jen is as good of a representative of Blue Atlas as she is of the city of Richmond. Can't wait to go back!
