As usual, this place gives pure excellence, and not even the coronavirus can stop that. The woman taking calls during this curbside service only period is super sweet and thorough. She verifies the order thoroughly, is sweet and sincere, and ends the call with curbside instructions and the full address of their restaurant. They are not doing the arroz con pollo right now, and a few other dishes. They'll let you know, but not many of the dishes have been affected. They still have the tres leches, at a minimum, on the weekend. My order was prompt and as beautiful as if ordered for dine-in, and the portion remains the same. I ordered the Bocata nachos, a must-order for me, a cachapa, and my husband got two empanadas (shredded beef and ground). The nachos are crispy fried arepa triangles with chunks of steak and what I think is hot dog, but a quality one; crumbled white cheese; shredded cheese; crema on top. Just a tip, for storage and reheating, take off the toppings and put the nachos and topping side-by-side, rather than layered, in the toaster oven or 425f oven. Perfection! The cachapa is even better reheated in the oven. No need to separate the toppings here. Sweet and salty perfection! What I love about their coronavirus service is that they are doing curbside. I, myself, held back on going because I didn't want to have to go inside, since I have a toddler. My husband did my pickup and said that they actually tell you to call when you arrive, then they bring out orders in order of arrival, and you pay with square. The worker has a mask on and extends the phone toward you for you to swipe. Well done, I'd say! Thank you guys for your thoughtfulness in handling these challenging times. So, folks, if you're craving Bocata, order up! Live far away? Sencillito! Bring an empty cooler or lunchbox and load your order up in that. Poke holes in the lid of any fried food boxes with a toothpick to reduce softening. Don't be afraid to request toppings on the side if you have a long drive. Keep supporting this wonderful business! You won't regret it!

The BEST arepas in town. Omg, I could eat these every single day. The restaurant is in a strip, but there's more that meets the eye. Once you walk in, you are greeted and your order is taken. I have never and I mean ever had something that good! One of my favorite places to go.

Bocata is one of the best restaurants in Richmond hands down! We've never had a bad experience here. Everything on the menu is amazing. We especially LOVE their arepas and burgers! I cannot praise this place enough. The food, the staff, the service, the atmosphere....it's all incredible. Grateful.

Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to this lovely establishment! Being Venezuelan in Virginia can sometimes feel alienated, and Bocata Latin Grill is a much needed taste from home. I've brought many American friends here that have had a great enjoying they're homecooked-style options. Everyone working here is so nice! And the food is 10/10. Highly recommend for Latinx people but also for new-comers that want a little taste of the culture!

One of the best Venezuelan restaurant I've been too in the US. Authentic and delicious! I'm sure VCU and downtown residents would love to have this place nearby.

Exactly what it is meant to be, a Venezuelan kitchen where all the food is prepared fresh and from the heart. A minimal menu with each item giving you the undescribable flavor of their homeland. If you are craving the flavor of South America or even the Caribbean, you need to drop in. But, be ready. Everyone knows how wonderful this place is. Midway between lunch and dinner we walked in and most of the 10 tables were full, and they were so as we walked out. At least certainly fill your plate! You will absolutely get your moneys worth.

Hidden Gem ! Good customer service is always a plus! The food was cooked quick, and order was accurate. Plantains were excellent, but small amount provided. Also tried the chicken empanadas which were excellent also. One was enough to fill me up. Definitely want to try more items on there menu.
