I ordered the large pork platter. I got cole slaw, baked beans, and hushpuppies to accompany the pulled pork. Portions are great.

I was returning from DC and decided to stop for lunch in Richmond. I chose Buz and Ned's due to their reviews. There is no indoor seating at this time. You order at the window and op to eat at the picnic tables in front or take it with you. I ordered the sliders w/Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The sliders were pulled chicken, brisket, and pulled pork I believe. The brisket tasted amazing! The hush puppies were great also!!! They were piping hot with a buttery onion taste. Easily some of the best hush puppies I have ever had. The coleslaw and Mac and cheese were good but not great. I'd still order them again if I ever went back. The customer service was top tier and food was good. I will stop by again when I'm in the area!

I used to love this place, but it has gone to hell. Its no longer done in anf the BBQ is now below average at best. Spent $120 on 3 pulled pork sandwiches and a full rack of ribs. The BBQ sandwiches were basically 1/5 pound of meat overly saturated in BBQ sauce. Way too much sauce. Couldn't even choose what sauce we wanted. The ribs were $40 and I felt like I'd had an appetizer after eating a full rack. Almost no meat on the bones. And the checkout lady was rude and unhelpful even after a $20 tip. The Buzz and Ned's of old is long gone. I'll never eat there again.

Good food. Only outside eating, tent has been taken down. Friendly service. No bathroom. Very limited free parking, the majority of parking is paid parking lots.

This is a take out only location. Staff was friendly and nice. My daughters pulled chicken was delicious. My ribs were tough and chewy today. Which I'm told is the regular Buz & Ned's experience. Sides were very good.

We stopped on our way to the Richmond Airport. It was a cold day, so be aware that it is takeout only right now. There are picnic tables in front of the restaurant, but the tent is currently down. We were tempted by the barbecue and it was amazing. Also the fries, hush puppies, baked beans, and coleslaw were delicious too. We ordered at the window, and the food arrived pretty fast. Don’t miss this if just passing through Richmond or I’d you reside there.

Buz and Ned's WAS one of the great BBQ experiences in Richmond, but for whatever the reason, not so much now. The high point was the friendly staff, but the torn and tattered awning kind of sums up the whole experience. High prices for small portions of mediocre food. (The exception was the fries - they were delicious!) I hope they make a comeback, but sadly I probably won't eat there again.

Almost everything that I ordered was good except for the coleslaw if she had a little bit of vinegar or something in it to make it taste better other than that I enjoyed myself

Usually order bbq, beans , apples and fried okra and love it. Tonight I ordered the smoked wings. Four big wings, two dry rubbed and two w bbq sauce. All were overcooked and dry. Terrible. Threw them away. The potato salad I made the mistake of ordering w them was the worst I have had anywhere. Boiled small potatoes cut into bigger pieces w a little tasteless white sour cream or something on them. They went in the trash w the wings. And I am not a picky eater! Come on Buzz, you can do alot better on these two items!

Dont order the smoked wings unless you like them overcooked and dry. Terrible. Skip the potato salad. Tasteless w just boiled potatoes w a weak sour cream sauce. Threw both of those away, they were so bad. All the pork bbq, okra and bourbon apples are outstanding.

Ordered the full rack extra heavy pork ribs. Ribs were dry and burnt. Quality has definitely gone down.

The most expensive street barbecue I've ever seen... For portions that are surprisingly small. Won't be coming back. Okra was good though.

(Last visited 11/16/2020.) Working in Richmond for the week and I'm on the hunt for some smoked wings! Buz And Ned's Real Barbecue had exactly that on their menu so I went for it! Atmosphere/Appearance: I got takeout because I wanted to eat in the comfort of my hotel so I never actually went inside, but what I saw from the outside gave me so much hope for this place. Lol. It looked sort-of like a shack where you could see the kitchen fulfilling orders and putting things together right in front of you. So you know the food was about to be grand. The smell was incredible and just made your mouth water. Service: Again, I didn't actually get table service here, but the gentlemen behind the counter took excellent care of me. Food: Now, the moment you've been waiting for. I ordered the smoked chicken wings meal which comes with 4 WHOLE wings and 2 sides. You can get the wings in their dry rub or signature sauce. I chose the fresh country collard greens and sweet potato fries as my sides. They both were extra, but no matter. I also opted for a bowl of Buz's Homemade Chili. I know, I know, that's a lot of food, but I wanted to be able to try a little bit of everything. The chili was excellent. It was spicy, hearty and FULL of savory, rich flavor. The collard greens were decently prepared, nice and salty. The sweet potato fries were crispy and not terribly sweet. I chose the wet wings and they were very, very good. They were huge, moist, tender, a bit crispy and the sauce was a great mix of sweet and spicy. Value: Barbecue is NEVER cheap, but it's always worth it. So my 4 whole wings with 2 sides was $17.97. That's not awful, but that is certainly pricy. It was an extra $1.49 to upgrade one of my sides to the collard greens and an additional $1.49 to upgrade the other side to sweet potato fries. The bowl of chili was $7.49. Like I said, the food isn't cheap, but the portions are done well and you don't leave hungry. In conclusion, I was very happy with my experience here. I haven't had barbecue in quite a while and this was a great reminder of why I should eat barbecue more often! This has been a real favorite for years. I really like the new takeout window they have, so that you don't have to go inside to pick up your food. It goes without saying that the food was excellent. For so reason, this location always tastes better to me than the West Broad St. location. Maybe, I think that because this is the first and original location. As usual, the staff was courteous and professional.

Stopped here on our way back home from South Carolina. Found based on high reviews and it didn't disappoint. Great food and service! Only a few minutes off 95. Definitely worth the stop!
