Absolutely delicious authentic German food. The veal schnitzel is tender and well prepared. Great beer selection. Friendly and efficient servers. The food is prepared to order from scratch so expect it to take a reasonable time to be served. It's well worth it!

Just super mid. Was seated at 7:05 and wasn’t served until 8:30. Food was all room temperature.

First, they asked me to wait 30 minutes. After that, they said I had to wait another 30 minutes.

Excellent menu. Everything I tried was fantastic. The schnitzel was the most standout dish.

Took 90 min to get food. Schnitzel and potatoes were served cold. Tiny portion of veal schnitzel for 24$. Missing capers despite there being only two ingredients - lemon wedges and capers.
Truly a joy to eat here. The spatzle alone worth the trip.
And the staff were very pleasant.

The experience was a complete and utter failure from start to finish. Waiting over an hour and 20 minutes for food is unacceptable by any standard. The delay was excessive, unjustified, and showed a complete disregard for customers’ time and plans.
For $95, the value was nonexistent. When the food finally arrived—at a point where we no longer even had time to eat—it was cold and bland, making the entire ordeal feel even more insulting. What should have been a highlight of the evening instead became a pathetic test of patience that ended with us leaving hungry just to make a show we had planned our night around.
To add insult to injury, when we explained we had to leave, the response at the end was completely unapologetic—no remorse, no accountability—just a casual “hope you can come back and try us again!” as if the evening hadn’t already been ruined. That level of indifference perfectly sums up the experience.
As someone who is German, I was genuinely excited going in. That excitement quickly turned into deep disappointment. If this is the standard being upheld, it’s no wonder the end result was so underwhelming. The meal was lifeless, joyless, and utterly forgettable—bordering on putrid given the wait.
I am honestly shocked this happened in Richmond, VA. I’m even more shocked that this place is still open and somehow buoyed by positive reviews, which feel completely disconnected from reality. This restaurant is a disgrace to German cuisine and does a disservice to anyone expecting competence, authenticity, or basic professionalism.
This place is a letdown in every sense. I strongly recommend not going back and would advise anyone considering it to take their money literally anywhere else.

**0 Stars - Extremely Disappointed**
My wife and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant last night. What we were told would be a 10-minute wait for our food turned into 45 minutes. To make matters worse, we watched multiple parties who arrived after us receive their meals before ours came out.
When the food finally arrived, my wife found it unappetizing and didn't enjoy the taste at all. Even more concerning, she became ill afterward with severe stomach pain that she attributes to the meal.
Between the excessive wait time, poor service priorities, subpar food quality, and my wife getting sick, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had. We cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

I promise this will be the best or at least one of the best schnitzel you’ll have in the US. Lots of meat and side options. All authentic and homemade. Several German beers on draft. Very small place so get there early or be prepared to wait. A must visit if in RVA.

A bit cramped as it was busy, but the food was truly fantastic - tasty, traditional, good portions. The German beer was delightful as well. Highly recommend!

Rude and abrasive owner. We have frequented here many, many times due to good food for the past 4 years, but after tonight, we are done. We'll find another restaurant that appreciates our service and treats us with a little more respect.
