Wow, just stopped by and got the stewed oxtail to go. It was absolutely delicious. It came with yellow rice and beans. The sauce and oxtail flavor was complex and perfect. Not too rich. I will definitely be back.

If you want to experience some good tasting oxtail this is the place to go, their food is very good, this place is nice and quiet and great service. The kids cheese burger was a bit burnt and the meat was overcooked.

I was craving Dominican food yesterday and did a little research to see what was in the area as I am a new Dominican in Richmond. I saw that Collao had almost 5 stars and decided to go there with my son. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Mofongo. I will give it a 3/5 because the Mofongo was good, but not the chicken. It just had a weird taste and I couldn’t finish it. My son got fried pork chops, rice and beans. The beans could have been better. This is just an honest opinion to what we are used to eating. If we go again, I will try a different dish and see how I feel. But for now I will be very honest with the public and rate this place a 3/5 for food, 4/5 for service.

Amazing food! We loved everything that we have ordered. Found this restaurant on Google Map and I liked the photos of dishes that were posted in reviews. Our waitress Amaya was so kind and patient. I asked a lot of questions since I never had Dominican food. She patiently answered each one my questions and told me what she would recommend. I ordered Mofongo Bistec encebollado (Steak and Onion with Yuca Mofongo). Yuca Mofongo was so delicious, it was my favorite part of the meal. Bake Pernil (Roasted Pork) was moist and tender, full of flavors. Goat Stew was cooked perfectly, good amount of lean meat soaked in delicious sauce. Each dish comes with rice, they substituted mixed vegetables for my husband and I since we are trying to avoid carbohydrates. We also had a cup of Cappuccino, it was nice and strong. They have a nice espresso machine in the bar area. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. Multiple large TVs.I really enjoyed everything, will definitely go back especially for the Yuca Mofongo.Kid-friendliness: They offer kids meals.

All I have to say is this food is authentic to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic without having to actually go there! I should have taken a picture of my food and my husbands, but it caught me off guard to dishes I’ve had by family and had to just dive in! I got pollo guisado and my husband (who is an extremely picky eater) got carne guisado. When I tell y’all I had to refrain from licking the plate, I’m not over exaggerating! It tasted like it was made with love, time, and attention. This is definitely a new family favorite and I highly recommend trying!

The service was great and the location was cute and clean. We ordered pastelitos, mangu, and Cuban sandwich. The pastelitos were too dry and rancid taste. The mangu was too greasy. The only thing that tasted decent was the Cuban sandwich. Wouldn't recommend!

Food is truly flavored with Dominican spices. The service was quick. The server was nice and food came out quickly. A lot of seating inside, there is a bar and Latino music playing the background. Lots of parking spaces. I would come back again.

I discovered this gem via DoorDash. I ordered the pernil and mofongo. The menu was a little confusing bc I thought that I was able to pick my sides. That's the only reason this isn't a 5 star instead of the 4. I would definitely order again now that I have a better understanding of the menu. Everything was flavored well. I especially appreciate the heavy garlic in the mofongo. I would encourage even more garlic (but that's bc I loveeeee garlic) Check them out.
