Canasta's Chicken

We got a to go order from here and were not disappointed. I usually don't like chicken on the bone, but the flavoring is so good from Canasta's. The side salad was fresh, and the fried plaintains were good. Overall, it was a great meal. My husband enjoyed the skirt steak and rice with fried plaintains and yucca.

I placed an order at 8:57pm, 20 minutes later I wanted to order 2 more anticuchos and desserts. But they told me that they were going to start cleaning the grill (9:20pm) and that they couldn't do it anymore. When I placed my order I asked what time they closed and they told me 10pm. (Several customers came and left because they were told that only Sandwich's is left. It would be a good option if they had more options until closing.
The food is average, it tries to look Peruvian but they are still far from the flavor.
The anticucho was good... just there. The gizzards had no flavor and had a very small cut. Finally, the Lomo Saltado had a fair flavor but the cut of the meat was also very small (the size of the gizzards).

The shrimp on a stick was perfectly grilled. It tasted really good! The guacamole had too much lime. Potatoes and plantains were great. Overall, food was tasty.

Absolutely love this Peruvian chicken place. Great food, great sauce. The white sauce is awesome. If you got a spicy tongue, try the green sauce too

Absolutely delicious! The chicken was so soft and tender! Only complaint is that we kept on finding hairs in the sauce. You can see the hair on the lid in the photo.

Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the roasted chicken, cilantro rice, and pinto beans. The food was so darn good that I immediately came back the next day and ordered the Salmon (this time) which they cooked right in front of me while I waited. I repeated my order, ordering the cilantro rice with black beans this time. And boy, they did not disappoint. Good flavor and large portion sizes is what you get. If you haven't tried their food yet, give them a try. I promise that you won't regret it.

Amazing food! The chicken is moist and flavorful, fried yucca is just like mom makes it at home, pico and the pepper/onion mix is delicious, and mom loved the shrimp! If eating in, have patience as it isn't fast food, but it is well worth the wait!
