Went under the assumption it would be comparable to the known Brazilian steakhouse. Entered and should have left. Food looked horrible and old. Got a plate and decided to just pay and leave. Didn't eat the plate. Would love to have a refund l, but am counting this as a loss.

Excellent authentic Brazilian food. Better than the large chain buffets. Came during Covid. Staff was constantly cleaning surfaces and never removed their mask. Very clean. Very friendly. And the food was the best.

This time was not as good as the first time. The restaurant is under new owner amd the cut of meat were only two.

stopped in on Sunday afternoon. At first waiters brought the meats giving only very small samples and then everything stopped. We waited over half an hour after requesting more and the only thing that was brought was extremely over cooked chicken hearts that were like chewing rubber. We left after being ignored, still very hungry, and paying a lot for a whole lot of nothing.

This place is a neighborhood restaurant. Was full of people when I arrived. We did not have to wait for seating. The food was pretty good but they need more variety in the meats they serve and I did not like the sides they offered.

My boyfriend and I came for lunch. The staff super friendly. The place was very clean and had a family feel, like home. The food was amazing. We will be returning. Although this place is no Texas Del Brazil considering the atmosphere but some days you want to go to a place like Cheers where everybody knows your name.

Eat here and support local business! I lived in Brazil for 6 months and dining at Brasil Tropical Steakhouse was like a trip down memory lane. It isn't anything fancy like Fogo de Chão, just authentic homestyle Brazilian churrasco...just how I remembered it. The pão de queijo (cheesy bread) are delicious. The farofa was amazing and the picanha was perfect. Biting into the picanha was so good that I had to close my eyes and just savor the moment as I reminisced on my time in Rio de Janeiro and Manaus. The restaurant also has a little shop at the front of the restaurant and a larger market around the back where you can buy all those ingredients and snacks you can only find in Brazil. The family who owns the restaurant are very friendly and attentive, and obviously put alot of heart into their business. Choose to dine here for a little taste of true Brazilian food.

We came for lunch and enjoyed all of the grilled meats that we tried, especially the sausage

Man! I went to this place before with the old business name, but boy has it had a facelift! It looks way more like a restaurant now. It is still under the same ownership. They are warm and friendly. The food is very traditional. You will always hear lots of Portuguese and see lots of families here. Yes, you parents can find high chairs, by the way, and even have the option to tuck yourself away into the back bar area to save some of the other folks from hearing your kid if they decide to get a little yappy. The buffet is $9.99! That price does not include a drink, but it does include a ton of yummy food. As a result, lunchtime gets pretty busy, and you'll hear lots of Portuguese and Spanish alike. There is a takeout buffet option with a set number of entrees and sides included and a drink for the same price. For the buffet, you just serve yourself first and then pay after your meal. That was a little confusing at first. While the buffet is small, it is all you need and is a steal for the price! You get like 3 or 4 entrees, a fruit and veggie salad bar, 2 different types of beans (which are delicious!), rice, and some cooked sides. There was even a stewed fish on the buffet when I went. For $9.99, I would never have expected seafood, and it was really good too! Rodizio, or the traditional meats cut hot from skewers, is $19.99, and the buffet is included too. On my visit, there was the fish stew in a creamy sauce with big wedges of yummy tomato and thick fillets of fish, a stewed beef dish, grilled chicken with yummy crispy skin, and some amazing mashed potato dish with a tomato sofrito-like sauce, and chunks of ground meat. It was soooo good! I am totally stealing that idea and making a sofrito for topping my mashed potatoes! Yum! There were black beans, pintos, rice, and the veggies. I was lucky because eveeeeerything was gluten-free! When I asked, well, after I clarified the wheat flour part, they understood my question too, which is a big deal. A lot of people do not understand the whole gluten or wheat flour thing well enough in any language to trust their answer. There were also homemade coconut candies and lots of really yummy-looking cake slices, one of which, I am pretty sure, happened to be gluten-free because I came across what looked just like it later online, bolo de aipim com coco, and it was cassava coconut cake. No flour involved. For spicy food lovers, what you absolutely must try is the pickled pepper sauce. O M G! I forgot how good it was. Such a perfect burn with a touch of sweetness from the peppers too. Wow! Do you guys want to bottle and sell that? If so, count me in! They also have what I think is called farofa for topping dishes. It is ground roasted cassava powder. I didn't have that, but it is very traditional. There are lots of tropical juice and milkshake options available to order as well and, of course, Guarana Antarctica, the traditional soda. They also have a real bar in the back, so not sure what kind of fun stuff they serve up there. Honestly, I cannot wait to go back! Of the South American cuisines, Brazilian food doesn't exactly have a reputation for the best food, but this was really good. You just can't beat the price either, even if you only have one plate of food. Plus, I am a total buffet hater, but this isn't a gross buffet. The owners are right there by the buffet, and it isn't unsanitary like those big buffets where kids put their hands in the food, folks cough all over it, and they recycle the food the next day in another dish. This is just authentic Brazilian homestyle comfort for an unbeatable price.

Yummy food with a laid back atmosphere. $10 for the buffet which includes some meats , beans , rice , pasta , veggies , watermelon , potato salad. Depending if lunch or dinner , $17/$24 for the buffett plus unlimited selection of meats. There are some sweets as well to try. Aguas naturales like mango, coconut, guava and other options as well. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer questions. I've been here before when it was Canthino but it has definitely been remodeled inside. Would definitely go again, a very good price for the food and the experience.

Tried this place for the first time today after learning about it a couple months ago. Decided to have lunch while watching the Brazil-Panama game as they have two big televisions up on the walls. This seems to be a center of attention for the Brazilian community in Richmond and I was the only one not speaking Portuguese I think. Staff and others were very friendly and it had a family feel to the place. The food was very good and I would definitely go here again. I did the $10 buffet and added the freshly cut meat extra dish that they bring around to all the tables and carve it for you. That extra is a variety of chicken pork and steak. The spices on the food were not so exotic but definitely different than I've had anywhere else and I enjoyed it very much. The grilled pineapple with cinnamon spices on it was a great way to end the meal.

Wonderful all-you-can-eat place with unbeatable price! For $25 with unlimited grilled meat, this is a steal! The buffet itself was very good; it actually includes meat as well so one has to be careful not to get stuffed just on the buffet food if you are having the full deal. The grilled meat was really nice too. I really like the fried pineapple. The staff was nice, friendly, and attentive. I would definitely be going back.

I agree with a follow reviewer on how this place got 4.5 stars. I went here actually a month ago based on the reviews I saw on yelp and what we got was leftover grilled meat from the night before! We got there probably around 6pm and ordered the bbq along with buffet and ended up eating more buffet than anything else since the bbq meats were 90% inedible. Listen I cook too just like everyone else and know what leftover meat reheated from last night tastes like. My problem with this place is why wouldn't they know that customers can tell they're being served yesterday's dry flavorless leftovers? The sausage was like cutting into fake plastic toy food. Who knows if later in the dinner service they had no choice but to grill fresh meats but DON'T go there early or else you will be served leftovers. I can't respect any dining establishment that does not care about the quality they are serving their diners.

I don't know how this place got a 4.5 star rating. Meats were very salty, salad bar was mediocre. Customer service was subpar. I had high hopes for this place. Very disappointed. Honestly what are these Yelpers smoking? Giving this place 4.5 stars?
