Has everything a tea drinker needs and didn't think they needed. When I visit, I will get a tea to go.

Love this place! Been coming here for about 15 years. High quality teas, friendly staff, and I like that they write out detailed steeping instructions for each tea. I don't live in the area anymore but they will ship to me for a very cheap, haven't been able to find another place like it anywhere.

I was so excited to try this place, but my overall experience was kind of awkward. There was one person working and they were helping another customer before me, which is fine, but I can't imagine how it would work on a busy day. I had to wait about 15 minutes before being greeted and helped. The employee told me they wouldn't be able to make recommendations because they didn't know my personal taste, but I had just finished telling them what I like and what I was looking for. I'm not expecting a mind reader, just some direction. Based on the vibe of the shop, I expected a bit more assistance than that as I am just beginning to branch out and try new teas.Overall, the teas I ended up purchasing were fine, if a bit expensive, but I expected that due to the huge selection they offer which I haven't seen elsewhere. I would have been more satisfied with the cost if the service had been better.

Best tea shop in the area! The environment is very peaceful and quaint-- a great place to write, study, or just have a moment of peace in a busy city. As many tea lovers know already it can take a little while to get your beverage. This is not a quick "grab-and-go" establishment. This establishment takes their time to connect with their costumers, provide knowledge on their products, and brew a delightful cup of tea, so be sure to set aside a little bit of time to leisurely order your tea.Great loose leaf selection for decent prices. Very high quality tea and tea related products. If you're looking for something niche, this is going to be your best bet in the Richmond area. If you're new to tea I would highly recommend Carytown Tea as well due to the kindness, patience, and knowledge of their staff. I will continue to come here for years to come.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

Great tea shop and I so appreciate the personalized assistance and blending. My friends who have needed it, liked the blend to help fight cancer and relieve nausea. I really benefited from the respiratory blend (minus the eucalyptus) and was rid of a week long cough in just a couple of days after having the tea. My favorite "dessert" tea is chocolate based Misty's Blend. A little light cream and yum! Excellent customer service. Parking is streetside.Dietary restrictions: They altered their respiratory blend to accommodate my sensitivities to eucalyptus.Parking: You're on your own to find a spot on the street, but it is free if you can find it.

Very good tea! A little pricey in my opinion but they have a lot of options. I particularly like their woman’s wrath blend to help with PMS

I had an amazing shamen matcha tea over ice and had to go back and buy some to go. Great service and nice space.

Have gone here for several years. The tea is amazing. The staff is incredible. Proprietary organic blends. Better teas than i have had anywhere else (even premiere tea shops in the UK).Love Patricia's Blend for a black tea. Earl Grey Supreme. Green Teas: Dragon Pearl. Jade Snail. Too many to name honestly.

I bought a bag of matcha from carytown tea recently thinking that it would be really high quality coming from a tea shop. Unfortunately it was probably the lowest quality matcha I’ve ever had. The smell was bitter and barely had any aroma when it should smell strong and grassy. The color was almost brown which shows the bad quality when it should be green. The taste was the worst part extremely bitter and besides a bitter taste almost no taste to it and no umami flavor. I wouldn’t really write a review like this unless I was so disappointed with the product and I am very surprised I was sold such a low quality product. Very very disappointing.

Andrea was incredibly helpful and friendly. She helped me choose a few teas, and they are all exactly what I was looking for. Can't wait to try sitting in for some tea sometime!

So glad I can get Patricia's delicious teas delivered to my home in Oregon. I've known Patricia, visited her tea places in Richmond, when I was in Virginia and visiting my wonderful friend, for many years. She is delightful and so are her staff...hugsx12
