I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The food arrived cold and clearly had been sitting for a while. On top of that, both meals was overwhelmingly salty, to the point where it was difficult to finish even a few bites. The presentation was also unappealing the dish looked sloppy and unappetizing, which only made the experience worse. Overall, the quality did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this place based on this visit. For a better Caribbean experience I would recommend to go three miles west of Broad street.

I thought I was getting great food and I did a couple times then I took my family spent two hundred dollars because I ordered two Red Snapper meals which is at market price roughly 46 dollars a meal this particular time everyone’s meal was Waaaay overcooked including the red snapper. The fish was so overcooked that it was hollow inside. When I called Charles to the table he just kept staring at me saying they’re always cooked 8 minutes which has to be a total lie because some fish is larger than others. I left the food un eaten on the table disputed it with my credit card company and whatever lie he made up! I guess they took his word for it. I also have pictures to prove my claim. I’m not fighting it anymore but buyer beware. It’s truly his loss. With that kind of greediness he won’t be open long!

What a wonderful dinner!! I got the curry goat with spinach rich, cabbage, and plantains. Everything was delicious. Felt like a true, warming, wholesome, home cooked meal. Staff was attentive and kind. Will definitely be returning!

NYC vegan and Charles's kitchen are both in the same place. Food is great, I had the chicken curry and it was done great. Really enjoyed eating here. Next time I will try the extensive vegan menu!

Very over priced! Was in town from Atlanta trying to find something to do in VA. This spot had live music for $15 and the entree was $45, entry fee was around $10. Food was good, but the experience was too costly. Ran across the advertisement on Eventbrite, but wasn't what I expected when I arrived.

Went to purchase food at 3pm and the place was closed! They had a sign in window stating chef break until 5pm. This should be stated in the app- order section so people don't waste their time going there between those hours!!
Yesterday I ordered dinner from this restaurant to-go. What I ordered was their Curry Chicken and Rice Cabbage, and Red Beans. After paying it took less than 5 minutes to receive my food. Naturally, I was shocked to receive my order so quickly, knowing Caribbean or Jamaican cuisine usually take a little longer. Nonetheless, when got home and open the box, it was dry and looked like it had been sitting there for a long time, like hours. The Cabbage wasn't seasoned and seemed half cooked. The beans were extremely watery. This was the worst experience I've had at this restaurant. I tried calling several times but no one answered. Therefore, I am left with no choice but to write this review.
