Price for sea bass was $60. Total bill for 2 of us with 1 glass of wine and 1 dessert, 2 cups of she crab soup and a tart dessert was $180 with 20% tip. Main entrees of duck and sea bass were perfect, sides of creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes were avg and super disappointing. Spinach was fresh but the cream / cheese was super bland and surprisingly ordinary! Scalloped potatoes were no better than grocery store. Tart dessert was average .. doughy and ice cream while great quality was too frozen to eat at first. Owner shared that 70% of their customers are repeat. To me $180 for a dinner is a super treat and overall the value wasn't there. Glass of wine was generous and tasty, Free champagne glasses for our 30th anniversary was very cold and superb. I just feel that at $180 bread, sides, desserts should be awesome. Portions were generous.

We really like Chez Max. The foie gras is amazing, also the warm bread, desserts and Chilean sea bass, and the sides are all perfectly prepared. I had the seafood crepes which I think are good, but not exceptional-- the seafood was a bit mashed together and not enough sauce on top. I would get crab cakes next time. Dover sole is also a real treat and the meats are always well prepared. We shared a beautiful Creme Broulee for dessert-- YUM. Oliver is often our server and we really like him-- professional, knowledgeable and so personable. It was a delightful evening.

Nice way to spend our anniversary on a Sunday evening. Free glass of champagne for anniversaries and half price bottles of wine on Sundays. What's not to love about that? Escargots was creatively prepared and moules were subtle and not over cooked. Chilean sea bass and salmon also delicious. The Bordeaux wine blend paired nicely with our meal. Yummy gooey lava cake finished the meal deliciously. Husband really enjoyed the meal and the vibe. Win win!!
