My fiancé and I heard such good things about this place so decided to stop in for dinner on our visit to Richmond. Arrived around 5:30 for dinner. The place is huge lol. It wasn’t busy, but by the time we left, the place had filled up.We ordered the Shellfish Frenzy which had a little bit of everything with “the works” sauce in hot, extra pound of crawfish with the umami sauce in hot, side of seasoned fries, and extra sauce on the side. The fries are good. Seasoned well and (the most important) CRISPY. I can’t stand soggy fries and they definitely weren’t soggy here. Dip the fries in the sauce and mm. So good. The bags the food comes out in are huge so it looks like there isn’t much in there, but looks are deceiving because there was definitely a good amount in the bag. My fiancé preferred the umami sauce, but I preferred the works. I felt the works was more flavorful. Hot also wasn’t really spicy, so if you want it spicy - get the fire! Also had the one punch which was delicious. I like my fruity drinks lol. Wish we could’ve drank more because they had a huge bar with good deals, but my fiancé had to drive back to NOVA after dinner so I had my one drink alone. Next time though hopefully!Overall, the service was great. They were very attentive. The food was good. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Definitely recommend.Only thing I really hated.. were the gloves (lol). They need to upgrade to the thicker ones. Other than that, no complaints and would definitely come back when I’m in the area again.

Have never had a bad meal here. Every time we’ve been, it was great. The shrimp are amazing, and the staff are great.

I finally got a chance to check this place out and it was WELL worth the wait! Our server was Carrie and she was fun, attentive and pleasant. The food came quickly and was warm and tasty. The shrimp rolls were my favorite appetizer! I got a fried oyster basket and added on a crab cake. The oysters were the biggest oysters I’ve ever seen . The crab cake was thick and delicious. I absolutely can’t wait to go back!

A real treat, but you’re going to get messy in a good way(at least with a “boil”). It’s a laid-back vibe, nothing fancy, including the presentation of the boiled dishes, which come in a plastic bag on a plate, presumably cooked in that bag. What’s inside is not like a watery seafood boiled dish, but more like a braising sauce in which all the ingredients are swimming. I had boil #1 which was shrimp, clams, mussels, crawfish. The Cajun spice with “hot” level spice was perfect for this combo. My wife got snow crab in Louisiana traditional, “mild” level spice, and it was a little overpowering for the delicate crab. I found mine to be a very generous amount of food and was completely satisfied. You gotta get your hands in it to eat and it made a mess but which I fully welcomed. “Napkins” are a roll of brown bathroom-style paper towel, paper tablecloth, but it fits the vibe. Service and sequencing was spotty at first but ended up good. We will definitely return.

I am not sure who shared pictures of the food here but I wish mine looked that nice. I am not picky by no means. Check my review history I barely ever complain. This place was not good and managements response to a horrible dinner was $20 off of a $250 dinner. First we ordered 2 appetizers to share among 4 people, which was the only good food we had, and only 1 came. We couldn't even eat the first one for about 10 min because we were not given plates or silverware. We then waited about 45 min for our dinner to be served. The 4 person seafood boil dish wad finally served in what looked like 3 tied mini trash bags on plates, filled with seafood swimming in congealed hemolymph (content of lobster blood and intestines) and a soupy watery mix of butter. Most of the seafood was overcooked with a rubber texture, requiring a saw to remove the shell, and many paper towels to wipe away the slimy film to prevent the seafood from flying out of your hand and to wipe your face off after being squirted in the face with seafood juice. It was pretty horrible but I didn't want to ruin the night so I thought maybe a little wine could help me relax and get through it so I ordered some. When the wine finally came, it was stale. Not wanting to ruin a family members bday or make a scene, I figured it would be best to call the manager once I got home to inform them of my experience. Surprisingly, they thought offering $20 off of a $250 dinner was an appropriate response which was an insult in my opinion. Needless to say I will never be back and will not recommend this place to anyone.

I loved this place. I will definitely visit regularly. Please get calamari that was the great appetizer to start with. Or sweet potato fries! They make everything so fresh.I got boiled mussels, crabs and crawfish combination. I love seafood. It was just perfect like how I expected and I wanted. I requested to try different types of sauces, since it was my first time visit. They offered me many different kinds.Beth was my server and bartender. She provided a very kind and professional service. I asked so many questions to her. She had really nice smile when she explained all my questions politely. Thank you ?Botanical breeze was my favorite. They also have very great beer options if you like beer.Very good vibe to bring family and friends to have meals.???

Seafood boil was a delicious and flavorful variety of crab, lobster, mussels, crawfish, and more. Seasoning and sauces were perfect. Great selection of appetizers and drinks. Inviting space and great service. Wonderful place for a long meal with friends and family at a table, or for quick bites at their large bar watching the games.

We have eaten there 3 times already! The Happy Hour is great! $5 appetizers, $5 wine, and $4 beer! My husband loves the chicken wings, and he's picky about wings. The batter on the fish and shrimp is light, and delicious. The flounder basket comes with three HUGE pieces of perfectly fried fish. Tried the Shrimp Wraps last night. Best thing I've eaten in a long time, and they are only $5during Happy Hour! All the servers, and bartenders are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items. This place is huge, so it would be a great place to host a party, or family get together. Thank you for bringing an amazing seafood place to North Chesterfield!

Best seafood I’ve had! I had combo 2 with (might be butchering it) umami sauce and it was incredible!!! My friend Jake had the fried catfish and he said it was cooked to perfection with a light batter. Crab tale will definitely be seeing me a lot! They also have my favorite bourbon.

I have recently visited this place before Thanksgiving. I got the Combo 2 with the shrimp and snow crab. The food is fresh and the staff is friendly. We sat at the bar tables which Frank served us and was very friendly. The place is very spacious and has lots of TVs! Definitely coming back for more!

Expensive for what you get….slow service. Small portions for price.

We came for my husband’s birthday and while the environment is nice, service was extremely slow. We were one of handful of tables. The food was just ok. The bill was delivered while we were just starting to eat and I had to take it to the bar to pay as the waitress never returned.

Never eating at Crab Tales Robious again. They gave me raw fried catfish, then brought the plate back, stuck it in my face and tried to convince me it was cooked. It tasted like mildew, swampy fish water or something just absurdly nasty. The meat itself was still gray inside but the owner said that the "timer went off" so it must be done as he fingered through the plate. Worst customer service experience 2021 contender. And the Cajun flavor was not there. Don't waste your money or your time on this place.
