As an architect and interior designer for almost 50 years you might take my criticism as valid. The art on the glass at the front of the building the art is fine but the green color and the yellow color over dominate everything and they make the art look trivial. The green should be changed not so bright and the yellow should be changed not so bright and the overall artwork would look much better.

Go to this fantastic place and here's why: Recently attended the opening of ICA's two newest exhibitions, Morgan Bassichis: More Little Ditties & Paul Chan: Breathers. Here is my short list of why you should go too.Go to be provoked by art that can be taken in on intellectual and emotional levels.Go to feel like you've met and been spoken to by the creative, compassionate, and clever Morgan Bassichis.Go to laugh so hard at Morgan's humour.Go to be inspired by Paul Chan's radical career shift and his thought provoking, sometimes unsettling fluid sculptures.Go to take a break from your routine in a beautiful space.Go because it's free and why would you want to pass this up.Go because I hear that the cafe has wonderful food and bev(but I keep visiting after hours so I'll have to review that at a later date)Go to have your mind blown! You're welcome!

Small, modern museum with rotating exhibits. Quality isn’t consistent but always interesting. Staff are usually very kind!

Pretty standard contemporary art museum for a college, but there is nothing special here. There are only four exhibits which is a little disappointing, but there are a few positives. There is FREE coffee, it is really open and modern, the staff is friendly, and it’s free. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to see this place or to drive more than 20 minutes, but if you live in the city, it’s worth checking off. Probably wouldn’t go back because of how small it is, but it wasn’t terrible. There were a few cool art pieces though. Clean bathrooms as well.Note: The elevator is SO SLOW, but it’s a really neat one! I would 100% suggest using it.

Nice museum! There were 3 exhibits on. It seems like it was a transition time because there were things being set up. The space is nice and clean cut to make sure you can focus on the art which is nice. The outdoor areas were really pleasant to walk around and sit down at. It would be nice to visit multiple times a year to check out what’s new. There are nice bathrooms, too. There isn’t an official parking area but there’s a lot of street parking.

It was a nice place to sit and the staff was very friendly. The only art we were able to see was 8-10 paintings of the same artist. I guess I was expecting multiple exhibits with a variety of form.

Very interesting art work exhibit. It’s a small museum but nice. The architecture of the building is very modern. I recommend a stop if in Richmond.

Don't even bother going in here. The real exhibit is the museum itself. A museum for elitist out of touch with reality hack art, across from what's left of a historically black neighborhood. The social commentary is incredible.

The Institute of Contemporary Art never fails to disappoint. The building itself holds great potential, but unfortunately the exhibits don't deliver much of interest. It feels like a space that showcases artists that can't connect with many people. Your time is better spent at VMFA or the Valentine.

very well done..very interesting

It's a real nice space. Never been before this event. Hopefully it won't be the last.

Beautiful space providing an outlet for artistic narratives from diverse voices. I attended the Dineo Sashee Bapope opening and it was breathtaking. Such a joy to hear the artist and the curator speak on the experience of composing this exhibition.
