Bread was wonderfully fresh at end of day. Delicious taste to white sourdough. Only negative is that it’s only bread. Wish they had baked goods as well.

Amazing bread. Quiet quaint atmosphere.

Drove here from Chesterfield only to find out “Jeff is running late.” NO BREAD at all.

What a waste of time and poor business owner.

Needless to say we’ll find some place else to buy bread

The best bread I tried in USA! Highly recommend the French sourdough!

If we sat all of our world leaders down to share a pot of tea and loaf of the sweet bread from here we may be able to achieve world peace. The french sourdough is also delicious, I used it for a delicious appetizer involving marinated chickpeas, ricotta cheese, balsamic vinegar, and some pickled red onions.

Walked past here on a recent trip to Richmond and found the most gorgeous, freshly baked San Francisco sourdough loaf - could not believe how flavorful with such a great texture! Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip!

Coming from San Francisco I know sourdough French bread. Five stars for the flavor and the crust.

Amazing bread and head baker Jeff is so kind!!! Thank you for telling me about your process of building this business. Wishing you all the best and hope everyone gets to taste this delicious sourdough.

Great bakery specializing in sour dough loafs (with some other options). Hours and loaves are quite limited, highly recommend reserving ahead of time.

Cannot express how much I love this bakery. I traveled from Virginia Beach to get some favs (Perly’s for chanukkah and Joey’s hotdogs since I miss Tony’s) and decided to stop here. Can’t beat the price or friendly service, but of course the coup de gras is the delicious, fresh bread. We bought about seven loaves, almost every kind available, and have been tearing through it. Probably the best bakery I’ve ever been too especially since it’s hard to find ones that offer a variety of loaves and baguettes as opposed to confections. Must stop for tourists and locals alike!

Kid-friendliness: It’s a cute shop! Who doesn’t love bread?

I pre-ordered and paid for a baguette (needed for a gathering at our house today, Dec 24) and another loaf, just to try it. I didn't need it. Per the website and the email I received, the store opens at 9.

I drove 20 minutes to get there, arriving at 9:30. The bakery opened at 10, not 9. I was standing in line until about 10:20, when I could enter the bakery.

They didn't have the baguette. Since it is the one thing I needed, I then got to spend another hour plus looking around for a baguette at other places, only to settle on the Kroger 5 minutes from my house as everyone else had sold out by 10:30.

This was my first time as a customer there. The man there seems nice. The bread is well reviewed. But it is a business and it is unforgivable in the digital age to not communicate with customers about things that will impact them. I wasted over two hours of my time on December 24 because they didn't have what I ordered and they chose not to communicate that. That's just not acceptable. Seems unlikely that I will go back. Guarantee that I would never pre order... What is the point?

The baguette and 5-grain were noticeably better than any I’ve had elsewhere. Plus the atmosphere in the sweet space felt very European. Jo was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly enjoys what she does!

This is truly a bakery! It’s like going to Europe once one steps inside; old shelves and flour everywhere. And the smell will bring you to the countryside of France or Italy. Walk down Main Street and step inside to the absolute best bread in Richmond!

I bought a San Francisco Sourdough loaf from these guys today at the South of the James Farmers Market. It’s really really good. Crusty outside, soft and flavorful inside. I’ll be looking forward to trying their other offerings!
