Fat Rabbit is one of my favorite coffee shops/bakeries in Richmond. The vibe inside is great and I just realized recently that they have an outdoor patio! Any of their baked goods are amazing, I love the quiche and the hop tarts!
OMG! The cakes!
Couldnt tell you if the cakes are any good. I called to ask about ordering a cake. The lady I spoke with was very snippy and told me I should have checked the website. I guess customer service really is dead. She was too busy to take my order but I guess I have plenty of time to parouse their site for info.
I called WPA next. They were super polite and even though they were technically booked for the date I needed she went and asked if they could squeeze me in since I was ordering a plain basic cake, even before she knew it was for my pre-operation party.
Cool name, Fat Rabbit, but your lack of service will get you nowhere.
Love their berry hoptarts, brownies and granola.
Came here because I've heard about it, and I was not disappointed! The staff are so friendly and the baked goods are not only gorgeous, but super delicious! The seasonal strawberry vanilla latte is so good and the French press coffee pairs nicely with everything. Stop in! Treat yourself!
Overrated cakes - had the lemon curd and olive-oil blueberry. I can make a better cake a home. The lemon curd was hardly lemony (probably skimped on rind, used whole eggs etcs), the buttercream bland (for the price I expect no skimping on extract), and the cake layers too dense and glutinous - they're using the wrong flour or skimping on butter. The blueberry olive-oil was better. At least neither was cloyingly sweet. Really wanted to try the carrot cake, but overall save your money and go to WPA Bakery - better value less hype. The gluten-free shortbread scone was good though. Maybe they serve the practice cakes by the slice and save the good exemplars for the weddings etc.
Fat Rabbit never disappoints! The customer service is always amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their food is top quality, and the coffee is absolutely delicious. But the real stars? The bakery items. The cakes, in particular, are out of this world. Always grateful for this incredible team and the love they put into everything they do
Great GF Scones.
my cake was delicious and beautiful! the flavor options are wonderful, especially if you are trying to get away from the white/chocolate/marble varieties. Everything was fresh, I could smell the lemon through the box (because it was REAL lemon) and I couldn't be happier!
One of the hidden gems in Richmond. If you are doubtful about vegan go for it. You will be changed for ever. Not too sweet, not oily, syrupy - It was just right. Great coffee too - And I am one of those very hard to please customers. The perfect place to enjoy a latte and the best quiche and tart in town. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and welcoming. Get there early things sell out. Esp the quiche

Everything I got was amazing, but especially the savory fall pastry. One of the best things I've ever had, not even kidding.

The BEST cake in the city. Don’t be fooled by that giant slice place on Cary.
Fat Rabbit has unique treats, great people and a wonderful atmosphere.

The pastry is of very good taste, the decoration of the space is beautiful. We tried a chocolate, tahini and pistachio cake, spectacular! The perfect texture. We also tried the biscuit, my goodness the right size, the delicious flavor, you can taste the artisanal ingredients. The service was very good, with a lot of patience and a smile on the face. You can get off-street parking. And a very important detail, outside the restaurant there is a refrigerator where you can donate food, for people who need it, wonderful. I loved this place!

They accuse me of not paying for an item back in May 2024, and I don’t think anybody should be treated like that a loyal customer who is harassed by emails. Apparently nobody’s grown enough to call someone and speak to somebody with respect I’m ashamed that I even spent that much money there and I’m hurt. I wouldn’t recommend Fat Rabbit to the homeless people down the street from there. Can not believe they messed up and they couldn’t even apologize. They were wrong and it’s very sad that they treated me with such nastiness just to find out they had everything they needed. I paid them. I didn’t steal anything like they accused me of. Costco cake is cheaper!! Bigger
