Door was locked at 1:25pm and the entry smelled like urined with puddles.

The egg rolls were awesome, mac and cheese superb, and the brisket was the best I've ever eaten. Sliced thick, nice and smoky, and it cut like butter. Simply amazing food with great service to go with it. We'll definitely visit again and again.

First time in and it was a great experience! Good food, great staff and just an all around good time. They were out of mac balls and the egg rolls so I will def be back to get those!

Anything from the smoker here is absolutely phenomenal! I can't recommend the brisket enough!! This bbq is so good you won't want to put any sauce on it. If you're in the area and considering bbq this should be your first stop.

This place is what all rib places should be, my wife and I stop in for a quick happy hour and tried their pork ribs perfectly seasoned and good smoke, the smoked egg roll was excellent recommended from our server who was great

I stopped at Fatty's for a late dinner. I didn't want too much so I had a bowl of Brunswick Stew. It was very good. The toppings of brisket and sausage were very nicely done. They were out of sweet tea but the server make some with simple syrup. I'd like to go back to try some of the bbq items.

This place was better than I expected for a place that looks so trendy and chic. The food was terrific. I loved the taste, the choice of additional sauces and especially the smoked turkey. Vegetables sides were just right in taste though small on portions. Service was good but the greeter ignored as for several minutes and never acknowledged us at all. She looked up to an arriving young waiter and shrugged toward us to indicate “handle these guys” and returned looking at the screen.

I found parking easy enough, although it's downtown and it's paid. It was only a dollar.

Ok I eat a lot of Q and love it when that first bite hits on all eight cylinders and Fatty Smokes did just that. I had the brisket, bbq beans and onion straws; brisket was cooked right had a nice smoke ring. But my meal was supercharged: the two tomato based sauces were amazing - I like thick and sweet, Kansas City style sauces (hate me I don't care) and these sauces had that nice tomato, molasses, brown sugar balance in a unique Virginia way. The beans were actually complex (yep I said that) and crafted to stand on their own - a lot of bbq joints simply add their bbq sauce to their beans but I'm pretty sure the Q Master didn't settle for just that, must be a god gifted bean connoiseur. Kudos man! The space is like a sports bar, lots of bar space if you care about those things. My only downsides: parking sucks you might need to circle around to find an on street spot. The price point is a little high for a sandwich lunch, particularly for RVA where I think a lot of value can be had. Honestly I think the pricing is more akin to what I'd expect to pay in downtown DC for the same. Quality is there tho, nothing worse than paying for bad or mediocre BBQ.

Whoa! This place does barbecue of different styles and sides right. Fried Green Tomatoes- awesome. Alabama White Sauce- flavorful. Pulled pork and sausage- mouthwatering. Collard Greens- seasoned with a kick. My waitress did an awesome job mixing drinks as well. Stop in and try this joint. I was encouraged to see an accessible, delicious barbeque spot in Richmond done right within the bustling commercial district.

Guys, picture a trendy bar with 24 taps (one with PBR!) and specialty cocktails but serving really good BBQ! Nathan at bar is great and efficient. The barbecue eggroll with collard greens and pimento cheese and pulled pork is freaking amazing as an appetizer. I did not purchase any size I chose to go with a quarter pound of pulled pork North Carolina pulled pork and sliced brisket. All cooked as a smoked meat should be cooked. Very flavorful. The Virginia red barbecue sauce is a combination of Kansas City style in North Carolina vinegar and is also very good.

This review is a trifle limited; my group popped in for a quick bite during a conference. My North Carolina style BBQ was ever so good, and the slaw was first rate. ( I really needed a cold beer or two to give a more accurate description.) This restaurant is attractive and would be a great spot for any occasion.

First time visit and will prob return. Top notch service in a casual yet modernist setting. Close your eyes and imagine filming an adult movie of flavor in your mouth...the buffalo mac and cheese balls would be the star.

Went there for lunch after attending show at Carpenter Theatre. Had the turkey sandwich with Cole slaw and side of potato salad, was very good. Liked the atmosphere of the place and the server was ok. Others in my group enjoyed their meals as well. Would definitely go there again.
