We had the pleasure of stopping in after a meeting today (visiting from Fredericksburg), and—of course—the power went out right after we placed our order. 😂
First off, our waitress was lovely (I wish I had caught her name!)—super kind and totally on top of things. Even with the power out, we just sipped on our mimosas and enjoyed the vibe. They ended up getting us our meals regardless of the power even when we said it was not necessary, and it was absolutely delicious!
Smith, the manager, came out to each table and was an absolute gem. There was a wild storm going on, and while the situation was clearly out of anyone’s control, his calm and positive attitude completely shifted the room. No one rushed out; people stayed, chatted, and enjoyed the dim, storm-lit ambiance courtesy of Mother Nature. 😂
It’s rare to see a manager check in multiple times—especially during a “crisis”—but Smith clearly leads by example. The entire staff remained upbeat and relaxed, and that vibe starts at the top.
We’re often in Richmond for work and will definitely keep this as our go-to breakfast spot. Even in the strangest circumstances, we had a genuinely great experience!

We go to First Watch every Sunday for breakfast. The food is amazing and Viktoria is the best. She always goes above and beyond and makes our breakfast there so enjoyable. She definitely is the reason we keep going back!!!

Stopped in on Mother’s Day and had a superb breakfast with wonderful service from Linwood. Even though slammed for the holiday, order, service, and atmosphere were great. Highly recommend and will be back.
