Went here with 5 others. Only 4 of us got anything off the menu. We couldn't split the check because apparently a check there can't be split if there are 6 or more people at a table, forcing one of us to pay for all 4 of us who got something from the menu. The food was okay at best. Not worth it.

I never thought I’d have to write a review like this in 2025.
My friends and I (all Black professionals) had dinner at galaxy diner this weekend. The food was decent, the service was just okay—but what happened when we left was outrageous.
We paid our full bill—cash left clearly on the table with tip. We even double-checked before heading out.
As we were walking to our car, a white waiter RAN after us, yelling and accusing us of “dining and dashing.” In the middle of the parking lot. Loud. Embarrassing. Disrespectful. No apology when we told him the money was on the table. He ran back in, and just said, “Oh. It doesn’t matter.” No “sorry.” No accountability. Nothing.
Ask yourself: Would this have happened if we weren’t Black?
We weren’t “mistaken.” We were profiled.
If your staff is trained to assume Black customers are thieves—even after they’ve PAID—your restaurant isn’t just a bad experience, it’s a public risk.
We came to support your business. You gave us suspicion, shame, and zero respect.

Food was a 10/10. The atmosphere was so cool & definitely gave diner vibes. Food came out hot & fresh! Our server was amazing on checking in on us & informing us of any deals going on & certain things included with the different meals. I definitely will be back & bringing along others with me. & it’s kids/family friendly!

Waiter will accuse you of not paying for your food. And if you prove him wrong, he won’t offer an apology, but instead an attitude.
Kid friendly went for my daughter's birthday, a little expensive for burgers and fries. Drinks aren't strong. Nothing too good or terrible.

This place is a Richmond Icon and definitely worth a visit. They have standard diner fare but the give most meals a unique name to go along with the restaurant's sci-fi motif. I personally prefer their breakfast items, but their lunch and dinner options are also really good as well
