The ONLY reason we can't give it five stars is because of communications issues we had at the start of our interactions with them. We managed to hire them in the middle of a staff change, which led to long waits and us having to send several e-mails requesting updates. Fortunately we hired them over a year in advance so we didn't feel too stressed. After Nicole took over it was smooth sailing from there.

I truly wish we had the opportunity to have Garnish cater the wedding of my Fiancé and I. When I first inquired about catering options, I did so through their contact form on their website. I waited a few days for response and did not hear back, so I just assumed my message probably hadn't been received/got mixed up somewhere, no big deal. I then reached out personally to Head of Catering Sales and got a response on when to set up a call time. We spoke on the phone, which was wonderful. I was able to have all of my questions answered and create a menu for a proposal, to which I was told would be sent to me within 2-5 business days. After 6 business days, we emailed just to ask how our proposal was coming along since we had inquired with other caterers and needed to book soon. After we passed business day 10, I received an email apologizing for the delay and that another event had come up last minute that needed to be worked on ASAP, and that our proposal would be sent over to us by Close of Business that day. By 10PM that same day, we still had not received anything.
While I appreciate the opportunity for a phone call, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of communication. I am very understanding in knowing that things come up last minute or more time is needed to work on a proposal, yet it was never communicated with us that there would be a delay in receiving our proposal at any given point in time. I had then reached out to our coordinator, who said that it was not uncommon for this catering group to not have sufficient communication. This ultimately solidified our decision to not choose Garnish, even without a proposal to look at before the decision was made.

We had garnish cater our wedding last weekend and we are still getting messages from the guests about how they loved the food! Caleb was amazing to work with during the whole process. They make the tasting into a fun experience and create a special menu for each event. Caleb was always so accepting of any changes we wanted to make and even offered some feedback on other areas of wedding planning. As soon as we walked into cocktail hour our guests were telling us how amazing the crab cakes were! They made sure we got to actually enjoy our wedding food and even gave us a ton of leftovers to take home and enjoy over the past few days!

What can I say, except exceptionally great! From the moment we had our first phone conversation through the end of the event, Garnish was amazing. Caleb promised so many amazing things for the wedding that we thought this was all to good to be true. Well, IT HAPPENED just as he described. The planning was easy and Caleb was so amazing to work with for the planning stages. He took care of everything and coordinated all with the venue coordinator as well. The wedding was great. Caleb, Nathaniel, David, Kristian, Nicole, Natallea, Bria, April, Evelyn, and Stefani provided the service at the event. Let me say that not from just one, but from all of the service people, the answer is "of course whatever I can o to make it great". IT WAS GREAT. After the event, we had Garnish also provide a Sunday Brunch at the venue. Again, just as promised. As you can tell, there is not anything I can put in words to really describe how happy we were with our choice to use Garnish. I could not be happier than to recommend them to any and all that will need professional catering services in the RVA area.

Nicole and the Garnish team are incredible.During planning we were very indecisive on what we wanted for the menu and changed from stations, to buffet, to a sit-down meal multiple times - it was never a problem for them. They made sure that we got everything we wanted within our budget and the food was SO good.Nicole also makes sure to take care of details for you - she even created framed menus to put next to the food that matches our invites/colors.And finally, our wedding was completely outdoors during a tropical storm, but Nicole and her team pivoted beautifully and made the wedding perfect. Everyone keeps talking about how good the food and bar was.THANK YOU Garnish!!!!!
