Food and drink were delicious. The kale salad is a MUST! I got what sounded like a plain dish of rolled noodles with tomato basil sauce and homemade ricotta. The dish was silky and flavorful. The sauce and creamy ricotta were perfect.The spot is super cute and vibey. It was a tad bit loud for me but that is what it is, especially when it’s an intimate and yummy restaurant.

I really enjoyed having a meal here. We visited on a Friday evening in March 2024. The restaurant was very busy and you can see why. The food was great. There were 3 of us and we all shared our plates. I would say that 2 of the courses were fantastic and the third was a little under par compared with the other two. The servers were on form considering how busy the place was. Will be coming back to try some other dishes when the chance arrives. Highly recommend.

Third time going to Gersi and the worst by far.* We were seated outside in 40 degree weather. Gersi does not have adequate outdoor seating, we were placed directly on an uneven sidewalk under a tent with an ancient space heater set on "low", with a door that was constantly opening and letting out heat. When I asked if they could increase the heat, they offered us an old blanket instead.* Our server was by every two minutes in what was a transparent attempt to get us to leave as soon as possible to clear up more room, removing appetizers before they were finished and asking us "do you guys want a box???" every time he came by. This began less than an hour into us being present, on Valentines day dinner.*We ordered the 14oz steak and ravioli. My steak (ordered medium rare at the servers recommendation) was overcooked and grey, she was given 5 individual raviolis for a meal.I understand that restaurants operate on the margins, and I understand that Valentines Day is a very busy day. But at every turn, it was made extremely clear that our comfort while dining was far less important than Gersi saving pennies anywhere it could at our expense.I set a reservation at Gersi hoping for a nice dinner in a comforting environment on a special day with my fiance. Instead, we sat on a cracked sidewalk in 40 degree temperatures eating a burnt steak.We will not be back, and will be advising others not to go.

This was our first time eating at Gersi RVA and it certainly won't be our last. The food was mouth watering delicious. And the service was also fantastic - very attentive and made some great suggestions for our meals. Our party had lasagna, lamb ragu, some calamari noodle dish and a sausage and brocolli pasta.It got really quiet when the food came to the table because we were all stuffing our faces with absolute delight.The only thing we weren't crazy about is how loud it was inside when there was a full house - but that's not out of the ordinary for smaller restaurants in the fan area. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, this isn't the place for you. But if you like a lively, cozy vibe, check it out!

We really enjoyed our trip here for the most part. This place is small and we were crammed into a corner table next to a large party. Unfortunately the party of 10 walked around and talked to each other thus standing over us quite a bit while we were trying to enjoy our meal. This wasn't Gersi's fault other than the space is so small this inevitably happens. The food was outstanding. We ordered muscles to start and the sauce/gravy they come in was so delicious, we insisted on taking the left over home where I used it another night over pasta. I got their salmon which was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right and my husband got the lasagna. I took a tiramisu home and we crushed it a few hours later. We only got a picture of the muscles as we pounced on the entrees upon arrival. We'll definitely be back

Train your hosts!!! Young guy looks at me as I stand to be seated, " Anything I can help you with???" Well yeah, I here to be seated, duh!!! I'm a beautiful lighhtskinned black woman with a black man over 6 feet tall. Totally inappropriate and racist. After checking the recent reviews I'm glad we left. Found great fresh homemade Italian food less than a mile away. You better recognize money has no race, gender, or color!!!
