This spot earns it's excellent reviews. Great sandwiches, nice vibe, fun decor and excellent cake to top it off.

We ordered the Dutch Aunt and Croque Provençal and they were delicious. The potato salad was not to my liking because I’m not a fan of capers and onions in it. However the other people in our party loved it. The restaurant is extremely small so the service was slow. That was to be expected so we just enjoyed each others company while waiting.

Girl that made my sandwich took too much acid. I know this because I could hear her talking about her drug use and that her fake ID was about to expire on her birthday. She spread the extra spicy horse radish on my sandwich like it was mayonnaise and as if I’d asked for extra mayonnaise. It was the most painful and terrible sandwich I’d ever eaten. I tried to scrape the horse radish off but it was still too overpowering at that point flaring up my sinuses. The girl that served us walked by about 10x and could see I was having a physical reaction to this sandwich. She did not offer to swap the sandwich out or even give a new piece of bread. It was the worst sandwich I’ve ever had and terrible service. They ruined it. If she had just asked how the sandwich was and offered some remedy, I would not write this review. My boyfriend liked his sandwich and I told him he could write his own review.

Great Richmond find, fantastic sandwiches in a charming intimate space. The sandwich choices should satisfy anyone but don’t pass up the potato salad.

This is one cute old school style cafe! For those needing gluten free food, they take precautions to make safe and delicious gluten free hot and cold sandwiches. Vegan and vegetarian options as well. And they have a daily gluten free cake and/or pie.

My husband and I decided to try something different for lunch on a Saturday. This diner is already tiny and a few tables weren’t being used due to covid. We were seated right away at the bar, which was okay, but we would have preferred to be at a table. The server was friendly and attentive. We both had The Teacher and potato salad. Both were quite tasty. Many people picked up to go orders while we were there. We’d go back, but hope for a table next time.

Garnett's is the place to go when you want to have a local experience. The food is prepared like the cook cares about quality, deliciousness, and experience for the guest. The menu is not huge but has a variety of appetizers, salads, cold sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, and HOT with gravy. Sandwiches are packed with meat, cheese, veggies, and served on Italian, wheat, ciabatta, rye or Boston brown bread. The restaurant is small, but comfortable. The staff is friendly and you feel like you belong there. I had Louisville Hot Brown: slice turkey. cheddar cheese served open-faced on toasted Italian bread topped with Mornay sauce and bacon. Don't miss Garnett's when you are in Richmond. I will be back there soon. It is now a "Go To" when we visit family in Richmond.

Excellent quality, great service. Generous portion of smoked salmon in sandwich and delicious homemade coleslaw. Cakes looked amazing, but resisted the temptation. Would definitely go back!

Tiny hole in the wall, but everything was fantastic - great bread, meats, and sides. Highly recommended - next time we'll visit in better weather and take the picnic in the park option!
