The best sausage, cheese and egg bagel I have ever had! It’s not a sausage patty - it is a sausage burger! They make their own sausage.

when will this spot open back up? it’s been almost two months that this place has been closed with the same sign saying “out for sickness, will be back in a few days”
i loved coming to this spot, the food and drinks are amazing but an update would be nice that way i don’t have to keep walking just to be let down every time…

Located along Main Street, Greenbrier Cafe is a hidden gem that captures the heart of Richmond's culinary scene. This is the one location I can truly say I’ve never been disappointed which their food or service and I’ve been going for 3 years. What sets Greenbrier Cafe apart is their dedication to excellence. Each dish is infused with care and creativity, reflecting the vibrant spirit of the city. And what's more delightful is that each item on the menu is named after a street in Richmond, adding a unique touch of local charm.
But beyond the exceptional food, it's the sense of community that truly sets Greenbrier Cafe apart. Here, you're not just a customer; you're part of the family. The friendly staff goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary.

Slow service, expensive, not great bagels. Very dry
And no sit-down
Vegetarian options: Two types of vegan bagels, the one I had was pretty good

Excellent breakfast and latte! Sad to see passersby with chain coffee, missing out on this gem. The bacon, egg, and cheese on sourdough was perfect, and the lightly sweetened specialty iced latte was great too. The day we came there was only ordering at the door with seating outside, but that was perfect.

Very disappointing. Banana was old and mushy. Food was so basic and flavorless. Even "everything bagel" tasted like nothing.Weird place. No indoor seating - you can't even go inside, just order through a window, next to a bunch of random doll houses.Website said there was indoor seating and photos backed that up - very misleading.

Coffee and food is good. It is worth noting that they do not offer indoor seating. This helpful information is not to be found online. Their website is not active and their Facebook page indicates that they have an inviting, cozy space inside for you to enjoy. That space is off limits.
Also, I was hassled by aggressive panhandlers who were hanging around outside the coffee shop. This was my experience, you might not have the same experience. Food and coffee gets an A, but overall experience brings them down to a C+.
I was getting my hair done next door today at 1213 and needed lunch super close considering I had foils in. I made a great choice. Greenbriar made one of the BEST turkey sammiches I've ever had- it was slightly sweet, sharp, fresh, creamy...literal perfection. The sammich is called The Fan and I will be returning asap since I only had time to eat half of it.

Do you remember that episode of SpongeBob where he has to compete with King Neptune to make the best burger? The one where Neptune makes 1000 mediocre burgers and SpongeBob takes his time making just one, but it’s the tastiest and best burger there was? That’s how Greenbriar Cafe is compared to every coffee shop in Richmond when it comes to breakfast sandwiches. Their food and drinks can take a little bit of time to make and some days they’re high in demand, but everything is made with love and the portions are worth the money. Highly recommend their breakfast sandwich with sausage as they make their pattys in house and are almost as thick as a burger, and if you need something to cover both breakfast and lunch, their burritos are massive.Every month they update their menu with fun drink specials too. Highly recommend this coffee spot for regulars and visitors from out of town.
Literally the nicest people ever and so cool that they have a monthly drink menu! Best local spot :)

This place is great, I love that they are open on Mondays whereas every other place serving any type of bagel is closed. Their salmon and lox is great as is their coffee, especially their special drinks and holiday drinks!!

First time visit, customer service was superb, but I was not at all impressed with my breakfast food option (veggie wrap, not pictured). I may try another food option in the future, but will for sure return for coffee!
