Entrees are mid level at best, the smorgasbord is phenomenal though

We were really excited to try Grisette and maybe our expectations were too high. The drinks and service were excellent. The food is however was just OK while the prices are for excellent food.

The steak frites were the biggest disappointment. The steak itself had a very dry, though end while the side salad was entirely wilted. The fries however were great.

I went here with my family recently and really enjoyed our dinner! A cute & comfortable spot for a delicious meal. I would suggest making a reservation ahead of time.

What a fabulous little spot in a neat location. It is sophisticated and chic but not over the top. The food was phenomenal along with the service. You can tell there is truly a passion being expressed through the dishes. Check out their website and the little video they have in there.

Grisette delivered a fantastic meal from top to bottom. Service was bright, sunny, and genuinely welcoming from everyone we met. The setting is lovely: a beautiful spot in Church Hill near Chimborazo Park, right across from Alewife, with the kind of neighborhood charm that makes you want to linger and order another cocktail.

What impressed me most was how precisely the food evoked the French countryside. Every dish felt like something I might order in a small village like Tournon-sur-Rhône: perfectly cooked and unfussy, focused on ingredient quality and balance rather than flourish. The rockfish arrived with a seasonal mix of corn, tomato, okra, and green beans that tasted like summer on a plate. A melon, cucumber, ricotta and berry salad was clean and fragrant. Profiteroles and a peach cake wrapped things up with the right lightness. Even the pork belly dish, which can so easily tip into heaviness elsewhere, was handled with restraint and care.

In many ways this was not only the best French meal I've had in Richmond, but an archetypal rustic French meal executed perfectly. Aces all around.

Profiteroles or mind blowing. I still think about them 6 years later.

From the hostess to the most to my server, Bela I had an amazing reception felt very welcome given that it was my first time had a wonderful server only to be matched by the food that came in the kitchen. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their job and the presentation. They made sure I knew the ice cream was from another local vendor spotty dog I have given this restaurant five stars in every category. Their menu is small, but everything that I watch come out of the kitchen looked amazing. People were very helpful and genuinely pleased to be doing such high-quality work‼️💜

Great experience here. Super friendly staff and incredible food. The server took a lot of pride in her job. She gave some great recommendations, which we basically followed blindly, and we were very happy with what we got! Awesome date night spot!

Fantastic drinks, excellent wine pairings with help from the knowledgeable bar staff, and some of the best steak frites and other entrees. The decor and music were relaxing, and I love this spot for an upscale drink or dinner in Church Hill. I slept on this place for a while, but it stands up there with the best spots in town.

I went again last night (probably my 4th or 5th time in several years) - and Grisette just never misses. The smorgasbord is a must: beautiful house made pates and cured meats and fantastic cheeses, tailored to your preferences. A well curated menu of beautifully prepared sides and mains. Service is the way I love it - genuinely attentive and warm without going over the top. Prices are very fair for the quality and the level of attention to detail they bring to everything. One of my very favorites in town.

Delicious finely cooked food and excellent service. Big windows and classic interior that was just a bit crowded feeling. The food and service will have me back.
