Always enjoy my drinks from Grit. I just wish the iced blackberry mocha latte was available all year!

The ladies at Grit Coffee on Libbie were wonderful. I had to rush out but they made the yummiest almond milk latte and it was so pretty. The ambience was cool and casual and nice enough for professional meetings but also cool enough to spend time reading a book on a day off. They were both so kind. I’ll be back soon.

In a region where coffee's tale often hides in shade,Finding a shop that lists the roasted date feels like a crusade.Yet the service within, curt and quite rude,As if interaction is a massive feud.Despite this, for coffee's true age, such quirks can be outweighed.Their "High Five" creation, a testament to craft,A beacon for the adventurous, a delightful draft.Smoother than expected, with a taste so grand,This brew stands out, a leader in the land.A jewel among beans, even with service that's daft, its flavor is unsurpassed.

Possibly the worst coffee I've had in Richmond. Customer service and even the shop itself is great , not sure what brand of beans they're using but it's genuinely terrible. Once that's fixed the place would be solid.

Been on the hunt for new coffee shops and stumbled upon Grit! The parking is pretty easy since there's a parking lot nearby. The inside was small and cute, however, REALLY quiet. It would be a perfect place if you need to study or do homework. The service was nice and quick, nothing memorable but nothing bad either. My friend and I ordered a vanilla latte with oatmilk and a croissant. Unfortunately, the latte was not good. The flavor of it was rather burnt compared to other places i've tried and the croissant was okay. Overall, not amazed by this place but maybe their other options are better.

Great spot to bring or meet a friend for coffee. Went New Years Day, thoughtful seating with a mix of community tables, paired cafe tables & raised bar tables. Prompt accurate service, with a " stay for awhile" smile. Superb flat white & cherry danish & friend luvd the breakfast sandwhich & latte. Fair prices. If your'e lucky grab a seat with a window view, sip great coffee & watch the world of Libbie & Grove go by.Parking: Good number of parking spots for this area of town. Convenient & off street.Kid-friendliness: A few fams that seemed to be regulars dropped in with small kids who were totally occupied by their morning pastries.

Clean nice esthetically pleasing. Our drinks were really good chai latte at a very reasonable price and I can't remember what my daughter ordered but she really enjoyed it. Now my issue, the person behind the counter seemed to be in a little attitude. He didn't ask if our drinks were for here or to go. We were actually going to sit here so we did with our to go cup while someone who came in after us was served with an actual cup and saucer. Missed opportunity....

I've been to a Grit location elsewhere in VA and thoroughly enjoyed it- so I wanted to see how the RVA one was! Parking: Street parking around the small shop. I came around 2pm on a Saturday, and found parking within a 1 minute walk. There's a lot of space, I would guess it's busier in the mornings, but is a very walkable area. Interior: A really peaceful little shop! Plenty of seating and nice big tables, and it's very clean. Not a ton of ~cozy~ seating if you're looking for that, but lots of room for groups. Not a ton of outlets that I noticed, so probably more of a pen-and-paper-working or reading place. Nice soft music and bright with the big windows. Spacious for being such a small place! Drink: I got a flat white, and they did it half caf for me which can sometimes be difficult to find, so I was really pleased! They do up charge for alternative milks (oat and almond), but default to whole milk. I did like that they asked me what milk I wanted while I ordered bc sometimes I forget to substitute! The drink is delicious- smooth, roasted really nicely, creamy, and comforting. The quality of the coffee is great, and they treated the oat milk nicely. Food: Their pastries look really good, although I didn't order any. I will say I didn't see any vegan or gluten free options, which is always a bummer. Staff: Super nice, really chill, answered all my questions. The barista recommended brown sugar in the flat white and I really liked it! Overall, I will most definitely return with a book and more time to sit and enjoy the nice light and atmosphere at Grit!

boontish bills

Bought coffee here once using my credit card while traveling and now they are spamming my email with ads. If I wanted to be spammed I would have given my email or signed up for a rewards program or whatever. Abusing credit card payments to get personal data is scummy. Will not be buying anything from themever again.

Nice little coffee shop on Libbie. Good coffee. Great location. Friendly service. More industrial than cozy decor. No food though?! And hefty price tag for my $6 mocha as is the case with everything these days.

I just came here to write a review about the online customer service. I had a mix-up with my order and emailed customer service about it. I received a response from Seth, who was very gracious and understanding. He responded promptly and resolved the issue (which to be honest was my fault in the first place). I will definitely order coffee from Grit again in the future.
