Very unwelcoming towards minorities. Food is mediocre.

The atmosphere was great and the employees were nice, but the food was very lacking. The chili is the worst I’ve ever had and the fries while freshly cut were so hard I was unable to eat half of them. My husband got the pasta and it was very dry and not cooked properly. We didn’t end up finishing our meal.

If you like or even know Gwar, you will appreciate the unique authenticity of Gwar Bar. It is not a big place, but it has a big feel to it. One of a kind Richmond landmark. It is mostly a self service place.
Order at the bar. They will bring your food out to you. I had to call out to the bartender after waiting up front for a couple of minutes. They were watching videos on their phone. The mcDuckets were good.
Parking: There were no Phallus encounters.
Kid-friendliness: Probably not, unless you want to traumatize them.

GWARbar was a really cool spot, great beer prices! I really want to go back to that part of Richmond and explore a bit more. It felt like a hipster haven.

With the rest of the world moving to much more corporate forms of entertainment, it is nice to spend an evening in a bastion of blood and filth that isn't shy about itself. The staff were a+, the food is great (I get the demoned eggs when I go) and the atmosphere is better than ANY themed location.

Went to pregame a halloween party and had a blast!
The drinks were well made and resonably priced. The food was incredible! I got the steak and cheese wrap, the meat was jusicy and cheesy melty. They also have a lot of vegan and vegtarian options.

It's exactly what you'd want it to be.
The place was super chill. I'm not gonna lie to you. That was one of the best burgers I have had since moving to

They try really hard to give you the impression that you as a customer are an unwanted guest.
Instead of just using the universal sign known to all bar patrons of simply turning on the house lights, they have a human cuckoo clock that runs around screaming at the top of his lungs "EVERYBODY OUT!!!! GET OUT!!! TIME TO GO!!!". It's unnecessary to scream when there are only six or seven people in the building other than the bartender and screaming human cuckoo clock.
