Hobnob in Richmond’s Lakeside neighborhood is a hidden gem that combines cozy charm with delicious, thoughtfully crafted dishes. The menu offers a mix of comforting classics and creative twists, with standout options like the Fried Oysters, Rockfish BLT, and Lamb Meatballs. The inviting ambiance, both indoors and on the heated patio, makes it a great spot for a casual yet elevated dining experience. Friendly service and a well-curated drink selection add to the appeal, making Hobnob a must-visit for locals and visitors alike.

I can not say enough good things about the amazing, hard-working staff. Even near the end of their shift, they were courteous and professional. Next, the chefs food was soooo good. I left nothing on my plate. They have brunch at 0900 and 11 am on Sunday. Support our local restaurants and this one, you will not regret! Enjoy!!

We've eaten here several times over the last few years. Food was great as usual. They have a new menu for Spring 2025. A couple of us had the smash burger and really enjoyed it. Service was a little slow today but otherwise was great. It's a popular place so i recommend you make a reservation to insure you can get seated.

Outstanding food and service! Our adult volleyball team of foodies from the DMV was delighted to find this absolute gem!

Went for lunch had the worst time. Fry’s cold and hard lol and both sandwiches were not good. I see a lot of stars from other people, waitress never asked how every thing was, not good. Maybe came on the wrong day who knows won’t be back period.
I have eaten at Hobnob twice now. Both times the food, service, and atmosphere were top tier. Both times were team lunch outings for parties of 10+ which the restaurant handled wonderfully.

One of my rare 5 stars for a restaurant.
High quality, unfussy, modern American cuisine with seafood executed with an exceptional touch and at moderate prices (especially considering the rising cost of eating out the past few years).
Lunch is particularly good value. Shrimp & grits was the best I've had outside Charleston. Rockfish BLT was succulent and piled high. Very selection of local craft brews (loved the Legend brown). Don't miss the house-made desserts (hard to choose, had to take it to go).

Went with a friend for a birthday brunch and our server was unwelcoming from the start and just slow throughout our meal. But that’s not why you brunch, right? Let’s talk about the food. It’s disappointing that menu items are often unavailable so it can feel like you’re settling if you come hoping for a certain dish. The cinnamon rolls were out, so I ordered waffles, which arrived burned and tasted charred. My friend’s Eggs Benedict was served lukewarm with the hollandaise gelled as if it had sat out for a bit.
Beyond that, our seating was less than ideal. We had a reservation and were placed at a small middle table with another couple less than an arm’s length away. That could’ve been manageable, but servers constantly brushed past us throughout our meal which was uncomfortable and totally ruined the experience. Hobnob had been one of my favorite local spots for years, but after my visit today, I wouldn’t return again.

I had the most wonderful solo dining experience at Hobnob! This cozy little neighborhood gem is warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out.
From start to finish, the service was fantastic. My server was friendly, attentive, and made excellent recommendations; every dish I ordered was an absolute hit. I started with a Pomegranate Collins, the whipped goat cheese with sourdough, and a cup of lamb sausage stew, all of which were delicious. For my entrée, I had the bistro steak with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. The portions were generous, so I even had leftovers to bring home!
What made the evening even more special was the lovely conversation I had with the couple seated next to me. The intimate, homey atmosphere makes it easy to feel welcome and connect with others.
If you're looking for incredible food, stellar service, and a charming atmosphere, Hobnob is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to come back!

They did not have any of the items that I went for. I went out of my way to find them. Crab cakes are available only in the spring time. Lamb meatballs are no longer being sold.
