Amazing desserts and pastries with a great atmosphere.
Wonderful service from the young woman who works there. I appreciate her service very much and I enjoy their savory breakfast pastries quite a bit however the quality of the other baked goods are inconsistent.
Just bought a cookie that was overly sweet and had a whole bunch of raw dough in the middle (I paid $6 for it and couldn't finish it because I didn't know if it was safe to eat)
I'll continue you to pop by to grab their savory pastries if they have any, but I don't think I'll get any of their sweets moving forward.

Honey Baked Bee RVA was absolutely amazing for our wedding cake. From the start, the taste box they put together was incredible, and we loved how they customized the colors and flavors to match our Fall wedding. I never thought I’d be a fan of macarons, but I quickly learned how wrong I was – Honey Baked Bee RVA makes the most delicious macarons! We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding cake and the whole experience. Thank you HBB RVA!!! -Amber & Andrew

-No public bathrooms, but also no bathrooms for customers either
-Does not accept cash
-Two pastries came to $16
-Will not give you a cup of water (aka tap water) when asked, will only sell you bottled water
-“Over it” attitude from server
-The coffee cake was a nice treat. The other pastry we got was okay.

I really want to like this place but they’re making it hard. My daughter and I periodically stop in for a post-playground treat. We always enjoy their decor and giant chocolate chip cookies. The last time we stopped in we found out, after ordering and paying, that there is no longer a bathroom for customers and they would not make an exception for my 5 year old. Bottom line, this place is not good enough to be this unfriendly. I find all of their items (minus the chocolate chip cookies) to be aggressively too sweet. Their coffee is mediocre. Such a shame because their aesthetic is pretty cute.

Love Honey baked bee I live in Churchill and walk my dogs past the bakery every morning The owner Shannon is friendly and lovely and every pastry that I have tried has been delicious. My favorites are the apple fritter and the coffee cake muffins, but I love everything else. I have tried as well ? last week I ordered 50 cupcakes for my daughter's baby shower. They were so delicious and beautiful! I highly recommend for every daily eating pleasure and for your special occasions!

I recently tried a couple of items from Honey Baked Bee for the first time—specifically, a piece of strawberry cheesecake and a blackberry roll. The cheesecake was very good and prepared "homestyle" with a big, softish square sitting on top of a thick homemade graham cracker crust. The top was glazed with a sweetened strawberry syrup—it had elements of a compote and tasted very fresh. The blackberry roll was also tasty with notes of fresh berries, if a bit dry around the filling. I also ordered a brewed black coffee, which was below average for a bakery, but it was later in the day. I can't speak to the ambiance of the place as I ordered my stuff to-go but it certainly checked most of the boxes for a local bakery/cafe.
TL;DR: Very good strawberry cheesecake; good blackberry roll—both items tasted like they were made with fresh ingredients. The brewed coffee was "meh" but drinkable. It's a convenient location and I would go there again, but it hasn't quite elevated itself above some of the other Church Hill bakeries. However, I personally prefer the homestyle approach to their cakes/pastries over places like Sub Rosa and Whisk, which can be a bit too pretentious :)
