Idle Hands is just the best. The bakers are insanely gifted at their craft. The sourdough pastry and breads are impeccably tasteful, well seasoned, and perfectly executed. Every time I go, I try at least 2-4 items, and each one is unique and so, sooo delicious.

my cat and I love this place! great freshly baked pastries, solid coffee with excellent seasonal flavors, and super friendly local staff. support your local bakery, especially after the recent rva water issues!

Fresh bread and excellent baked goods! You have to get here early because the good stuff goes quickly and it's not unusual to see a line on a weekend morning.

Best bakery in RVA. Everything there has been pretty good. The stand outs are the twice baked cookie dough croissant, the sourdough pizza crust, the chorizo croissant, and their regular sourdough loaf.

Yum!! My go to bakery treat is an almond croissant and this one did NOT disappoint! The employees lent helpful suggestions about which treats to select! Everyone was kind and understanding of my curious toddler!

I was really really upset about the service… the pastries are so good, but all 3 employees were really rude in a variety of different ways. The girl at the register walked away from me & started doing something as I was standing there with cash in my hand to pay. i had to call her over so I could pay, & I had to remind them to give me the croissant id just paid for as well :/ I completely understand employees having bad days & such, but this was not that

Nice little bakery with a large selection! Gluten-free pastries are available and everything is made with sourdough, which I really appreciate. I understand that it's a lot of effort and manual labor, but still I wonder if a Pain aux Chocolate really has to cost more than 5$!

Atrocious service, rude and unhelpful. Pastries were good, but didn’t receive everything ordered, but should’ve probably checked before leaving.

Amazing if you can get it before they sell out and they sell out consistently before 12. I'm not into exclusive bakeries

These are the best vegan pastries I’ve ever had. Wish we lived closer!

Okay this place is delicious- their pastries are top notch. But the service is so awful. Three of the employees were crouched down texting and the person who checked us out was also texting while ringing us up. Like what?

Finally made it here! Croissants, pastries, and other baked stuff all looked so good. Made us want to try each item they had! Their hours say 8am-3pm, but I think they close once they sell out, which happens. So the earlier the better selections you can choose from.
