Lovely little bakery on a cute street. Stopped by on a Saturday morning to get the best selection and they had so many tasty-looking items. It was hard to choose! I selected the chocolate-almond croissant, the canele, and the supreme of the day (coffee-chocolate). We moved to Richmond from Charlottesville and I am a big fan of Marie Bette and the late, great Bowerbird Bakeshop. Idle Hands is definitely on the level with these. The supreme is a unique offering, and I'm so glad I was able to try it in one of my favorite flavors - coffee. It was huge and had tons of coffee pastry creme - so good. The canele was good, although I prefer the mini ones from Marie Bette - the smaller size makes a better ratio between the caramely outside and the soft inside. The chocolate-almond croissant was the star of the show. So generously filled with almond cream that it weighed nearly 12 ounces! Light and delicious pastry. A perfect treat!

My favorite coffee shop/bakery in the fan! My favorite is the tomato and goat cheese croissant. Also love love love their cardamom oat milk latte. It's super cute being able to see the bakers making the treats while I'm waiting on my coffee. The people who work there are great and I look forward to going there on my morning walks.

I checked store hours online then drove out of my way to pick up some baked goods. Arrived at 12:30 only to be told they’re closed and the door practically shut in my face. I’m sure the food is good but the service is terrible.

Been there twice. First time they had nothing left in the pastry cases. Late morning. Thought I'd give it another shot. Staff was not attentive when i asked 1 question about what one of the croissant types that was missing a label. Another staff member was totally rude, I have no idea why. Croissants are ok, nothing special. Just another overated spot in richmond because there's no competition to compare it to. I wouldnt spend another dime there.

Everything is delicious! Highly recommend the refrigerated pizza dough! It makes the best homemade pizza I’ve ever had. The owner seems super nice. Frequently sells out (because it’s awesome) so go early on open days.

Best coffee in town hands-down (I had an oat milk latte) . Strong, smooth and robust. They also use high quality oat milk. Definitely coming back.

Best bakery in Richmond no question. Extremely well done stuff. The canelé are particularly good!

Food was amazing. When I went you had to order ahead online then pick up. I ordered from my car and it was ready pretty quickly. There is a section of vegan options every day and I tried the vegan tomato basil tart and it was so

The pastries were amazing. I got the tomato basil cheese, and almond croissant and they both were fantastic flaky, chewy, and soft! Although my waistline will not be happy with me, I will definitely be returning soon.

The croissants here are nice....when it's opened. For some reason it'll be closed random days of the week.

The very best pastries in the area, no question. One of their croissants & a short of espresso for breakfast will have you feeling like you’re in Europe. They had eclairs this morning as a special and it might be the best eclair I’ve ever had. They’re a small operation so there are sometimes hiccups and they sell out quickly some days, but it’s all worth it if you love good pastry! Check their Instagram for regular updates on hours, flavors, & daily specials.
