This place was a definite find while in town for a conference! I had the oxtail and the goat curry, and both were delicious! The service was great and the owner/cook/host is doing a great job with a fairly new business. The other members of my party were equally impressed.

Per the professional young lady who took our order, this location( short pump) had just open last week. My wife ordered stewed chicken and I had j*** wings. Both of our orders had cabbage and rice w/ beans. Our food was truly tasteless, had we not taken our food home, we would have ask for a refund. We’ve had food from the Laburnum ave location before. We decided to try another location, I guess it’s a “hit and miss” with each of there locations.

Vegan options are INCREDIBLE. This is the second day in a row I've ordered from here. The first time, I ordered the stew veggie meatballs and today I got the j*** veggie meatballs. Both times I also ordered a side of plantains. The veggie meatballs are kind of like falafel and they are so moist and flavorful, it's unbelievable. Both sauces were so delicious. They came with cabbage, veggies, and rice and beans, which were all perfectly seasoned and tasted fresh. The plantains are awesome, too. I love that they serve such large portions of everything, it's a great value for your money. It's always so awesome discovering a new place that offers different vegan options than what most restaurants in Richmond offer, and this place is definitely a new Go-To spot of mine. I can't wait to try the coconut chickpea dish next. HIGHLY recommend this spot, vegan or not. The quality, freshness, flavor, and timeliness was off the charts.

Ok 2nd visit. Wanted too b sure it is what it is b4 leaving a review. Loaded w/rice 4 bones in a small oxtail, overly spicy almost like they sprinkle hot peppers on the meat. Food was luke warm it was early like 11:30am so could have been left from night b4 it was not like stove hot or like it was just cooked, so don't go early. Honestly I have had way better, try Jamaica House on Broad Steet f u want some decent oxtail, no comparison to Jamaica House won't order Irie Vibes anymore not worth the price barley any meat. Cabbage soggy no more for me. Again they load you up with a lot of rice so that the plate feels heavy, but when you open it u will be disappointed. We all know rice is not expense so they give you all of that and very slack on the oxtail we all know ox-tails r expense but when u spend dam near 20.00 for a plate you want meat in it . It was not good at all, don't waist your money go Jamaica House.

Customer beware! If you order from DoorDash or any other online delivery service, I suggest you call the restaurant first to make sure your desired item you're considering ordering is in stock. If you order via delivery service & an item is out of stock, you'll receive an email advising you of the out of stock item after your payment has gone through & you're further advised it could take 5-7 for a refund for the out of stock item. This is simply ridiculous and poor customer service. A phone call from the restaurant to the customer advising if they could offer a replacement would have been the right thing to do. At least the restaurant would have retained a customer.

I am a foodie at heart and very diverse person, with being from the Caribbean this is "highway robbery " everything in the store is d*** expensive, I ordered my food for 3, the wait was 15 min which I didn't have a problem with waiting, my husband goes back into the store only for the gentlemen at the counter to question him if he even ordered from their restaurant and he will like to see the receipt smh. We Finally got that settled got home and tried to eat the food with my child's mouth burning , along with mines and my husband. The rice was over cooked and stale, cabbage was too mushy and watery and limited meat for the curry chicken and barbecue chicken, Lets say we paid close to 45.00 for two small orders and one large with the only side available was cabbage, with none of us finishing the meal due to the amount of pepper in it . I will not recommend this restaurant nor will I be going back, too each it's own but when supporting black businesses you need to tighten up this is why we sometimes fail at excelling.

I got the peppered steak with rice and cabbage. Too good. Feels as though I was punched in the face with amazing flavour. They were also very friendly inside. Great first time experience. Would definitely recommend!

This food is excellent. We ordered out at the Midlothian location. Oxtail and j*** chicken was so tasty. The flavors are well rounded and your taste buds will agree. We also got rice and beans and cabbage with one of the dishes, all very good. We ordered a beef patty and was not dissatisfied. The person taking my order was delightfully engaged and listened as I tried to decide what I wanted. This was a vet good take out experience and we will be back. Support this business so they can remain a restaurant choice in Midlothian. Beef PattieJamaican JerkOxtails

I am so disappointed at this "Jamaican" food. I would not recommend this restaurant. I probably should have read the reviews before I decided to try it. I ordered a small and large brown stew chicken and a small j*** chicken and EVERY MEAL WAS HORRIBLE. I wasn't going to post a review because but I want to save someone else the time, money and tastebuds. The rice was overcooked. The cabbage was boiled to death and mushy. The brown stew chicken was nothing like the authentic brown stew chicken I've had from Jamaica. The j*** chicken was the only decent thing and that still wasn't good.

The Service was outstanding, though we are restricted by the covn-19 the customers where in and out. And the food is good as well.

I placed an order yesterday & was very disappointed!!! The brown stew chicken was horrible I never had nasty stewed chicken before!!!! It lacked flavor big time & im not sure of the pieces of chicken that was used but it was just awful....Curry chicken was ok still lacked the flavor I'm used too!! Oxtails tasted like rubber, Chic peas were pretty good!! The best thing was the Coco Bread!! I spent $60 plus dollars yesterday & was very disappointed I won't be returning ever again!!!

First time getting food from them. Ordered delivery and they left out my oxtails and second tray of island chicken. Mac and cheese not good.
