My favorite coffee spot in Richmond ☕️
We visited the Lynchburg location yesterday. We saw an ad for Tiny Tot Tuesday and wanted to check it out. I enjoyed a delicious pumpkin latte while my babies enjoyed their snacks and goodie bag. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!!
I used to visit Ironclad Coffee in Short Pump daily, but I’ve stopped due to consistent issues with how lattes are prepared. The baristas don’t mix the flavoring, leaving it at the bottom of the cup with milk and coffee poured on top. This forces customers to shake or stir the drink themselves, which often leads to spills or leaks—especially inconvenient when driving. I’ve ruined shirts and dealt with messy cups too many times. For a coffee shop charging $8 per drink, the highest prices I’ve seen in Virginia, I expect a properly emulsified latte. The quality and service don’t justify the cost, and I won’t be returning unless this changes. I hope the team takes this feedback seriously to improve the experience for others.

I was searching for a place that serves a quality cappuccino, ideally in a proper ceramic cup, as this tradition seems to be fading away. It makes such a difference, yet cafés like this are increasingly hard to find. The photos of the place showed an inviting cappuccino and tempting desserts, but disappointingly, the coffee was served in a plastic cup, the flavor fell short, and dessert options were limited to just a few cookies and scones. There’s no indoor seating either—only three outdoor tables

The coffee wasn't great and was expensive. There are a lot of interesting pastries on display.

I am a serious coffee snob and I have been to many coffee shops all over the country. This includes places like Seattle and Portland.
Ironclad's Bare knuckle Espresso is my favorite bean hands down. Even better than my own roasted beans
I travel to Richmond for business and always come home with a bag.
The coffee shop makes great drinks and pastries too. I'll typically start my day with a cortado.

The baked goods are the BEST around!!!! Their croissants are out of this world!!! Scones as big as your head and some very ingenious items!!! The only reason for the 4 is the atmosphere because it is only a walkup so when it is hot and sunny waiting is a bit tough but won't stop me from going!!!

What a lovely find. Right by our place of stay during our visit. The place smells of freshly made daily in-house pastries 🍰. Coffee ☕️ was delightful, a tad bit acidic for me, yet still great by all means. Pleasant staff, good vibes. Will come back for the pastries. May need a treadmill to burn all those calories but it's worth it 👌

Cute little neighborhood coffee spot! There’s no indoor seating, but they do have a few outdoor tables and a drive-thru.
