So sad this place is closing but find Island Shrimp down in the canal. we usually start with lumpia as an appetizer. The boats of pineapple are absolutely delicious.

We went for the Rum & Reindeer experience and it was such a disappointment. The place was not decorated much at all, and the food was terrible. The waitress said this location is closing, and I can see why. Very disappointing all around, especially given the cool interior design of the restaurant.

Did not enjoy dinner, mostly plate of fries, had not been there so decided to go try. Not many people in there eating.

Update: GO WHILE YOU CANThey are closing both Casa Del Barco and Island Shrimp Co. There is another Casa Del Barco in Short Pump and another Island Shrimp Co in Richmond at Rockets Landing. My wife and I decided to randomly stop here one day after seeing it on TikTok. Definitely very calm and empty during the work week hours. The food is refreshing and kind of keeps a tropical vibe. The drinks are pretty good and in the same realm as the food. This is actually connected to a Casa Del Barco and I believe both are owned by the local restaurant chain The Boathouse, which is always on point.

Came in for an early dinner after a day of running around and have always wanted to try this place, especially after looking at the reviews. When first seated, we informed of our server’s name and that there is an automatic 20% gratuity added on to the bill. Okay, that’s fine, we can roll with that! We ordered our beverages and three of them were alcohol. At first, our server did not know if they carried a type of wine (Riesling), she had to take a few minutes to search through her menu device (turns out they didn’t carry that, no problem), so Chardonnay was ordered instead. A beer was also ordered. It took forever to receive our beverages and the beer was “not available”, so our server suggested something else. Okay, we’ll go with that suggestion. The bartender walked to the back of the restaurant to grab a bottle of Chardonnay apparently and came back looking nothing short of annoyed. After the looooong wait for the beverages while the restaurant had maybe two other tables (I saw one when we walked in, and one across from the bar), our server said, “sorry for the wait, we’ve been running around. No one was running anywhere. Turns out the beer was available after being told it wasn’t.Our food was delivered by another person (she was very pleasant) and that same person checked in with us a few minutes later. Our server came by about a minute after that to do the same check in.The person that brought us our food and provided the first check in was also the same person to bring us a to-go container and I had asked her about the automatic 20% gratuity as she should have been the one to receive it. We were informed that the 20% is essentially pooled so they can all receive their hourly wage. I appreciate the fact that they are paid more than the standard server hourly rate (as I have spent much time in the service industry previously), however, it seemed unfair to her that she did the majority of the work. Our food (minus the burger) was good. Definitely enjoyed the fish tacos. Thought it was strange when we neared 5pm, it was so dead in there considering the mall was packed.Felt disappointed with our experience.

What a friendly staff! Gorgeous venue (both levels) and the head chef was extremely attentive and accomodating! The flavor... omg saborcita! *chefs kiss*We unkowingly arrived on game night and sat away from the bar. Though the participants seemed to be having a great time, we wanted to sit in a more secluded are and spent the evening not at all disturbed by the game play. Were even sat in a cozy little corner. Will for sure return. Easily my favorite of all of the Housepitality concepts (yes, even outranking boathouse).Vegetarian options: Plenty of options that would be exciting to me on meatless days. The cabbage is vegan and incredible. The plantains, vegetable fried rice, also vegan.Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy sensitivity and was able to swap one rice for the other in my meal. And much of the food is naturally dairy free!

Amanda was our server and she was great! She was thoughtful to bring us a Jenga game for our son to play with and also brought extra sauce with our meal as well. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully plated! I got the Island shrimp

My daughters and I were in Richmond, scoping out the town for a possible relocation. After a long day of apt. hunting, we had a late lunch at Island Shrimp Co. What an amazing vibe. We were greeted warmly, the food was extraordinarily amazing. Shrimp tacos were bomb! The chicken boat was heavenly. If you’re looking for great food, great service and a really cool vibe, check them out.

We were celebrating a birthday with our friend; the staff made it the most special and enjoyable occasion ever. The place has a wonderfully interesting and fun vibe. Bridget, our waitress, was eager to please, attentive and spot on. Philip, the chef, came to our table and was so kind, making everything perfect. Philip made us feel so welcome and well taken care of. E, the manager, even came by to welcome us and check to see that everything was just right! Amazing decor, food and staff. And the food, ahhhh yes. Presentation well done. I LOVE the whole vibe of this place. Philip, Bridget and E are true assets and kudos to them.

For our first time being in this area and not knowing what is around. We picked this place by the review it already has. Service was good, everyone was friendly, took a little longer to come check on us at the end and forgot to order our dessert to-go. But overall it wasn't bad service. Food was amazing!!! We loved it. We also got to play checkers at the table while waiting for our food, which is awesome instead of being occupied by electronics!

Was not the greatest experience we got sat had three different people checking on us. We didn’t know who was our waitress. Food was not that great. Waited forever to get refills. Seems ok but could use some training and management.

Bria & Chantel were both very kind & respectful. The shrimp tacos were very filling and flavorful. I do wish that a brunch menu was offered on Saturdays as it is on Sundays. Guess I'll have to come back on a Sunday. The rooftop seating area was so beautiful & it was literally a picture perfect day to be seated outside.
