Food was tasty, nice little sit down spot.
Service was abysmal,
reminds me why I prefer to eat at home and skip the reminder that some people are forced to work somewhere because they have no other options.
Therefore making the experience of eating somewhere less pleasant. Altogether bad for business alongside putting piping hot food on styrofoam so it melts and seeps plastics into my food? Nah

Their pepper steak with rice and peas and cabbage is so hearty. Get it with a side of coco bread and you'll want to nap right after.

BEST JAMAICAN FOOD IN RVA!!!
I've been wanting to try M&F Jamaican for SO LONG, and somehow catch them when they're closed every time. Well, yesterday I finally got to try their Curry Goat with rice & peas, and plantain, and let me assure you it was well worth the wait! It was SO GOOD!! And, MOIST!! The portion was perfect (it really could make 2 meals), the pieces of meat were big & falling off the bone, the flavoring was 🤌, the amount of gravy was just right. I'm really considering going back today for ROUND 2!!! 😍

First I’d like to start by saying I didn’t order from here and never will after seeing the experience my good sis had with this restaurant, to call this food Jamaican cuisine is an insult to a whole culture, if anything ever was cultural appropriation this would top the list, she order the jerk chicken with rice and peas and a side of mac and cheese(I’ll include pictures so you can see for yourself) never in my life have I ever seen 1) jerk sauce that colour and 2) jerk chicken drenched in sauce to that extent. I can understand how some people might enjoy this but please for the love of God this isn’t nor will it ever be Jamaican cuisine. Lastly I’ll say do better you have an obligation to the public and the culture who’s food you’re selling to hold yourselves to higher standard.

Ordered the grilled salmon dinner with a Caribbean sunrise and Jamaican sunset drink. Loved the quality of the food and the bartender's pleasantpersonality.

They dead wrong for serving burnt patties. I was looking forward to it. But the family really enjoyed the curry goat, as well as the peppered steak. They are heavy handed, the small size is more than enough food and the prices are very fair.

Shout out to the cook. The stew chicken was the best I’ve had. Good flavor and portion size. The cabbage could have been cooked longer but other than that, I’ll be back

I really loved this place when they first opened. The service has gone down. My order was wrong. I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and was given a Rum and Coke. This place should not have a bar if they can not make drinks. Everyone does not want rum punch. When asked why we received a rum and coke she said she gave us what she knew. She did not give me a receipt because she knew she gave me the wrong food and drink. I will tell everyone I know not to visit this restaurant because of the service. The lady charged me too much for my food and watched me the whole time I was in the restaurant. Service is really bad now!!!

I love this place but the addition of mixed veggies in the cabbage is blowing me..please stop..your cabbage was so delicious tied in nicely with the peas and rice..

I LOVE the vibe of this place and the staff/maybe the owner we had serve us was a pure joy to chat with and the food was amazing! I highly recommend this place! You won't be sorry you ate here!
