Took someone for breakfast here mainly so that they could see how cute the place is, but wasn't expecting the food to be as great as it was. We got a couple decaf Cafe con Leches, a roasted pork omelette, and the cod cake and eggs. Every item on the plate was delicious. The service was very good and professional, didn't want for water or silverware etc like so many restaurants lately. Beautiful funky spot. Great patio as well. Very reasonable prices.
Went to Kuba Kuba on a Saturday afternoon — not super busy. The wait staff was absolutely lovely, vibes were fun and not too much. Now, the food…sigh. Unfortunately. I was extremely disappointed. Ordered side of rice and beans for my daughter and it was way too much beans and so so salty. Also ordered the vegetarian paella; also very salty, the rice was also swimming in broth. And lastly the roast pork entree — pork was dry, and again the rice and beans was entirely too...
I know Cuban food tends toward the salty side, but our dishes were *way* too salty. It overpowered the the dish in both our meals. I had the Arroz con Camerones, and my wife had the Seafood Sofrito. Server was very sweet and did well even though the place was crowded. The atmosphere was nice, if not the cleanest. Bathroom needed a deep clean for sure.
